There are different pairing methods to achieve different results....and I am confused.

Here is what I have:

2  20S units   The 2 units are already paired to each other...I am told

BMW Navigator V GPS

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge android phone

The GPS will do directions when navigating; the GPS will play music when turned on

The phone will be a phone; the phone can navigate if I tell Google maps to navigate; the phone can play music if I turn it on.

80 - 90% of the time I will use the phone only as a phone, and listen for navigation from the GPS and the music from the GPS.

What methods do I use for this?

What if I want to navigate with the phone?  Or listen to music from the phone?  Do I have to unpair and pair using a different method?

Or, is there 1 pairing scenario that allows me to do phone as phone with nav and music from the GPS 80% of the time....and also allow me to use nav on the phone or music on the phone sometimes?
