Solid earplug-to-baseplate connection

I'd like a slightly bigger baseplate with a solid, non-flexible joint to plug in earplugs. The flex-joint wasn't strong enough and a simple earplug hole would be easier to manage the slack on.

  I've gone through two baseplates in two years; every time the flexible housing tears and cuts through the audio wires. A joint-less connection where we manage the slack would be much appreciated. Fortunately the RMA process is quick and easy.
