Sena 10U - Feedback why I have not bought one
I bought a Schuberth C3 Pro a few minutes ago after researching to death whether it will be the right helmet for me. Of course I will only find out when I get it, but while researching the helmet, I also did a ton of thinking about my communication system plans.
My requirements are:
- Needs to be able to charge while using it. (Prio 1)
- Should be easy to use with warm gloves. (Prio 1)
- Should have best possible audio quality for intercom. (Prio 1)
- Should have replaceable (at least via taking it apart and putting it back together) battery. So, not on the road replaceable, but shop replaceable. (Prio 1)
- Needs to perfectly fit a size M Schuberth C3 Pro without adding wind noise. (Prio 2)
- Needs to be able to run a multi-way intercom. (Prio 2)
Now, while the 10U satisfies the usability and fit requirements (I hope) and I'm sure it does fine for audio quality, the deal killer for me was that I can't charge/power it during use. I do some long distance riding and 10 hours of use just doesn't cut it. I could probably charge it during a camping stop using a USB charge brick, but that's kind of a pain as well.
I ended up just ordering a new mount for my many years old SMH-10 which still, to this day, seems to be the best and most flexible system out there.
It's a bummer as I would have loved to get the fully integrated 10U for the C3, but given the (according to your website) non-replaceable battery and missing ability to charge while riding/using it, unfortunately makes this system not fit for my purpose.
Maybe something to consider.

Bluetooth 4 really uses a lot less battery than older Bluetooth standards. A USB charge brick is something I have in my bag for the smartphone and the tablet... so no extra pain for that. I currently need to charge the unite like less than once a week.

- Needs to be able to charge while using it. (Prio 1)
Unfortunately due to safety concerns you cannot charge the 10U while it is powered on. Once you plug it in to charge the headset while powered on, it will automatically detect this and power off.
- Should be easy to use with warm gloves. (Prio 1)
The buttons on the 10U are large enough to be used with gloves on. In addition, the 10U comes with the Sena Handlebar Remote in the package for an alternate way of controlling the headset on your handlebars without the need to reach up to your helmet.
- Should have best possible audio quality for intercom. (Prio 1)
The 10U has the HD Intercom feature for high quality intercom conversations with another rider.
- Should have replaceable (at least via taking it apart and putting it back together) battery. So, not on the road replaceable, but shop replaceable. (Prio 1)
We do not sell or provide replaceable batteries for the 10U. If you do experience battery related issues then you can contact our Technical Support department for warranty service where you will be provided with a brand new unit.
- Needs to perfectly fit a size M Schuberth C3 Pro without adding wind noise. (Prio 2)
There are no issue with the 10U fitting inside of a M Schuberth C3 Pro without adding wind noise.
- Needs to be able to run a multi-way intercom. (Prio 2)
The 10U can connect to up to 3 other riders for a multi-way intercom conversation.

Chris, thanks for the comments, I have since bought a dual kit of 20S units. The ability to charge while using it was a deal breaker for me on the 10U as well as that the speakers are permanently attached. The cables break to easily to risk with a 300 dollar unit. If the speakers were attached via a connector, I would consider it for my wife, but as they are not, this was another thing that didn't work for us.

I'm glad to hear that you have found an alternative Sena product to the 10U since that product didn't fit your specific needs.
