Sena SRL EXT Shoei RF1400 wind noise

I bought a new RF1400 about a year ago. I purchased Sena SRL EXT at the same time and installed it. I have upgraded the firmware this week. I have a Harley with a whim to operate the CB as my groups use this ancient technology. When riding and keying up the mic to talk, complaints are that over 45mph the wind noise is so bad it indiscernible. I’ve stuck the mic behind the cheek pad or left a little sticking out to no avail. Still windy. I put more foam over it and it’s slightly better. What gives? Very expensive new tech, supposedly. Please give me a fix or a refund/credit and I’ll try another model. I had the same issue with my 50s.

  I apologize for any inconvenience you're experiencing. Unfortunately, you're outside the return period for this device. However, I've created a ticket for you to submit the required items for warranty evaluation: the original purchase receipt and an image of the device serial number, located on the back.

  Regarding wind noise, it's subjective, but the RF1400 may not effectively suppress wind noise from your torso. You are more than welcome to do your research on that to confirm my statement. 

  Consider that you've had the device for about a year before experiencing this. There are many factors at play, so it's unclear if a replacement would solve the issue. Factors to check include your position on the motorcycle, windscreen height, and whether wind from your torso is buffeting into the lower chin area, activating the microphone and causing wind noise.

  You can also enable VOX intercom via the Sena App. This way, the mic gate is closed when you are not speaking, and you will have to speak into it to activate the mic gate. After 20 seconds of not speaking, it will close. I highly suggest setting it to Level 1 in Vox Sensitivity.
