so - the solution to this problem is to disable Mesh 3.0 on the 50S. It would be good to document this somewhere on the Sena website... not sure how normal humans can figure out that 50S added Mesh 3.0 (when did that happen) and that it is enabled by default (pretty sure I didn't enable it) and that it doesn't work with either Mesh 1.0 or Mesh 2.0 - there is no way that I am aware of to tell what my 30Ks are running.

Also, I cannot connect my 30Ks to the app anymore. Says I need a firmware upgrade. But I can't upgrade my firmware. So just no more app support for me on the 30Ks?

How about an article about how Mesh 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 are different and how they are compatible? I'm guessing 2.0 is compatible with 1.0, and 3.0 is compatible with 2.0, but 3.0 doesn't work with 1.0 which is what I'm on with v3.4 30K. Sena - where is this written down?

**EDIT from further in this thread**: Suspect Mesh 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 do not interoperate. Mesh 2.0 ships on 30K. Mesh 2.0 and 3.0 ship on 50S and through the app Mesh 3.0 can be turned off to work with 30Ks.

Am I being rewarded as a loyal Sena customer or punished here?

    "I'm guessing 2.0 is compatible with 1.0, and 3.0 is compatible with 2.0, but 3.0 doesn't work with 1.0 which is what I'm on with v3.4 30K."

Mesh 2.0 and 3.0 are not compatible and can' communicate with each other. We have here posts from 50x users telling, they can't communicate after they have upgraded their firmware in January '25. The communication worked again after switching back to Mesh 2.0 in settings in the Sena Motorcycle App.

I assume the same is with 1.0 and 2.0, but I'm not sure for 100% ...

Wouldn't it be nice to not guess? If only we had a Sena community site to post questions to. Sena, please publish what models/versions support each version of Mesh and what firmware version that support first appeared, and please publish cross compatibility (if any). We are several thousand dollars into your hardware and can't tell what should work and what won't work.

Also publish which model/hardware versions your App supports and why Sena has apparently ended App support for 30K SP46.

Great article! The inability to connect between Mesh versions on Sena is a real pain, especially when it comes to staying in touch with a group. Similar to https://geometrydash2.co Geometry Dash, compatibility between elements is crucial for a smooth experience. If 30K can’t upgrade to Mesh 2.0, perhaps a replacement is the only solution to ensure a stable connection.

I have 2 30Ks (old hardware version) and my newer 50S devices can all communicate on Mesh together if Mesh 3.0 is disabled on the 59S. That likely means they all support Mesh 2.0, or Mesh 1.0 is compatible with Mesh 2.0.

Wouldn't it be nice to have this documented so we don't have to guess?

or Mesh 1.0 is compatible with Mesh 2.0.

Are you sure your 30K operate on Mesh 1.0 ? I'm not sure 1.0 and 2.0 can speaks to each other, but will be happy when it is true 🤗

At this point I don't think so. I suspect the 30K is running Mesh 2.0, even if on older hardware. Also, I doubt Mesh 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 interoperate.
