SENA Spider ST-1 & Insta 360 X4

Hi everyone, I bought a SENA Spider ST-1 & absolutely love it, however I have tried using it with my Insta360 X4 and as soon as I go to connect my camera (Insta360) I lose the SENA usage, I'm trying to use it with the MESH feature as a group of two riders......is it possible someone may be able to help me (or advice) how this will be possible, seems to work as a solo rider and is recording what I'm saying myself but as soon as I add another riders it doesn't then work sadly?

    Hi Nick. The Sena MeshPort Red adapter is needed if you want to record multiple riders over Mesh Intercom. Thanks.

    Hi Nick, I’ve had a similar experience with the SENA Spider ST-1 when trying to use it with multiple devices. The issue usually comes from the MESH connection bandwidth when you add another rider, the system prioritizes voice communication over external audio input from cameras like the Insta360 X4. One workaround is to record your audio separately and sync it later using a video editor like CapCut, which makes it super easy to align your SENA voice recordings with your Insta360 footage. This way, even in a group ride, you can have clear audio without losing the MESH functionality.

    Hi Nick, it sounds like the SENA Spider ST-1 can only maintain full MESH functionality when it’s the primary connected device. When you connect the Insta360 X4, it likely takes over the Bluetooth audio channel, which interrupts the MESH intercom. A common workaround is to record your voice via the SENA app or use a separate mic setup for the camera while keeping the intercom connected. Otherwise, full group MESH with simultaneous camera audio isn’t supported.
