Am baffled by this device. It uses an USB-A connector, yet requires an Android or iPhone device. Does any smartphone exist that use a USB-A?

I have MacAir computer with only USB-C ports, but have a hub that converts. And have installed the SenaDeviceManager for MacOS. I could not make a connection with the Sena Wifi Adapter, but a straight USB cable worked fine.
