I purchased and installed a couple of the Bontrager clips on a couple of my Sena R2 EVO helmets and they work very well. 👍

Actually, I double check the helmet and the straps are not glued down but held in with a small metal pin/rod, so your idea very well could work. Good catch!

This Amazon and Trek clips look good however, they both look like you need to feed the end of the strap through the holes. The straps on the Sena helmet are glued, so personally I would not want to...
