Check to see if you can update via computer and USB cord that works for data (not just charging) if the computer does not recognize that you have plugged in a USB device, then the port may be bad.

To bring closure to this thread, I wanted to post the final resolution. It was a hardware problem and Sena replaced the 50S unit. I needed a copy of my receipt (<2yrs old) and had to pay the shipp...
