I'm trying to pair a Sena PI with a Sena +mesh so three PIs can be used together. I have read that it's possible but I can't get the blue tooth to pair, the PI times out waiting. Two PIs will pair with each other but they don't see the +mesh unit while it's in pairing mode. Has anyone tried the combination? The app for the +mesh does not seem to generate a QR code for the SIP ....Is there a trick to add the +mesh to the pairing list?
Going to contact support, since this is unanswered.
Called support. They said the +Mesh is only compatible with a *single* Sena Pi. You can't connect more than one Pi at a time. You can only connect multiple Mesh compatible headsets. Given that the Mesh headsets can already connect to each other, I'm not totally sure what the point of the +Mesh is. :(
Joshua Fletcher the +mesh exists to bridge old non-mesh headsets into the new mesh system.
I would think that to pair more than two Pi units would draw more power connecting to more than two so they limited it's connectivity Considering how small they are the battery life would likely suffer. With two Pi's connected the units run for about 5 hours or so. Tom is absoutely correct about the +mesh.
Is the Pi not a "non-mesh headset"? Or did you mean "headset", because you can't connect more than one? Sorry I don't follow :(
How long do you think the Pi lasts? 5 hours would be fine.
The Pi is a standard bluetooth non-mesh headset. Pi only allows one connection between two units. I have two and they work for about 5 or so hours continuously. Headset is a common term to denote helmet communication devices whether it be motorcycle, bicycle, stand alone. They all communicate by either standard bluetooth only or both standard and mesh depending on the model. The model of headset specifies the number of connections that can be made with standard bluetooth as well as mesh.

I saw the activity and want to let everyone know I solved my issues. I had a support ticket open too but none of the suggestions I was getting worked, but they got be very close.
First the issue: My wife, daughter and I have electric bikes and got really good helmets. Much better crash rated that any of the Sena helmet with mesh built in. The PI is a great little headset that attaches to any bike helmet but is blue tooth only so only supports 2 headsets at a time. The Sena +mesh is a bridge from blue tooth to mesh which in theory allows unlimited intercom..........sounds like a home run. On Amazon several people asked if they were compatible and the answers were all YES. I bought 3 PI units and 3 +Mesh units to allow a 3 way intercom.
I tried for weeks to get the PI, latest blue tooth to pair with the +mesh, also latest blue tooth without success. About two weeks ago I finally got it to work and now have 3 way intercom with amazing range.

The PI MUST to be turned on first, after it starts and goes into normal pairing mode you have to go into the main configuration menu on the headset and select Mesh pairing. Once the PI is in mesh pairing you need to quickly turn on the +Mesh unit and get it into pairing mode. If you take too long the pairing will fail and you'll have to start again. Once the pairing succeeds they will remember their partner but the PI always has to be turned on first or you will be back to square 1. :-O {It's only crazy when it does not work}
Thanks for posting that. It never occurred to me you'd need a +Mesh for *each* Pi. I assumed the +Mesh would be some kind of central hub. Do you also have one of the helmets? Does it work? I'm considering the helmet for me and perhaps my wife, but I'd have to keep using the Pi(s) for my kids.
To clarify, the Pi needs to be placed into Intercom Pairing mode in order to be paired to a +Mesh. In addition, the +Mesh is an adapter that converts a Bluetooth Intercom connection into a Mesh Intercom connection so it can only be paired with 1 headset to allow it to communicate in a Mesh Intercom network. So, if you have multiple non-Mesh Intercom capable headsets that all want to talk to each other in a Mesh Intercom network then each of them require a +Mesh adapter.
