On boot up if you hold the power on keys a bit longer you will here the sena lady say Power level is High, Medium or Low over the speakers depending on state of charge.

Yes, I know that and use that regularly.  However my comment is because more often than not I just turn the thing on and don't think about "Gee, I wonder how much power I've got left" until half way through the ride and think I want to check it when I finish and then promptly forget to do that until halfway through the next ride when I think "Wow, I've been meaning to check battery level for three days now, got to check it after this ride" and then again promptly forget to do that.

Thus the request for a feature (in the "feature request" section) that puts another set of radio buttons in the configuration menu so I could turn on the battery level announcement during every boot and I would no longer end up with a dead battery 5 minutes into a 3 hour ride as I've done more than once.

I see what you are saying.  I've been in that situation too.  I've owned my unit for several years now and have gotten into the habit of charging the unit up after everytime I use it.  Have not noticed any loss of battery life. LiOn batteries do not have the memory issues the old NiCads did.
