Has anyone else experienced a problem pairing your iphone after 1.7.5 update.  And yes a factory reset was done.

No, worked just fine.  You have to delete the previous sena pairing from the iPhone then re-pair the two.  Sena 1.7.5 will now show on the iPhone instead of the previous version.

I did as well as at least one other. Me on an android and he on iphone. App will not recognize 20s since firmware update.
I already have deleted the old Sena BT profile on the phone and still spotty/no app connect.

Thank you for providing this feedback on the v1.7.5 firmware for the 20S.

@Ulysses Wong: If you reverted back to the v1.7.2 firmware for the 20S, do you still have the same issues?

I did revert back to the last firmware, I don't recall which version right now.
I thought it resolved the problem but the issue resurfaced the next morning.

Booting up the Sena UTILITY gives me "Connect your Sena headset with your phone and terminate the RideConnected App"

    1) When I first got this after the update, I uninstalled the RideConnected app. The app was not running when I first got that message and cannot be running now.

    2) The 20s and phone communicate fine. I can use it for all other functions, just not with the Utility.

    3) I can't even reinstall the RideConnected app now as the Play store indicates that somehow its not compatible with my ZTE Zmax Pro that had it before.

    4) Bottom line is suddenly the app can't find or hold the 20s connection. All other devices are working fine with each other otherwise.

@Ulysses: Please perform a Factory Reset on your 20S.

    1. While the 20S is powered on, press and hold the Phone Button for 12 seconds until the LED changes from flashing red and blue rapidly to becoming a solid red light. You will hear the voice prompt say “Factory reset”.

    2. Immediately, tap the Jog Dial once. You will hear the voice prompt say “Headset reset. Goodbye.” then the headset will automatically power off.

Next, remove the 20S from the list of devices in the Bluetooth settings menu.

Finally, power the 20S back on and place it into Mobile Phone Pairing Mode by holding down the Jog Dial for 5 seconds until the LED is flashing red and blue rapidly. Select the 20S from list of devices in the Bluetooth menu and wait for them to pair together.

Restart the Sena Smartphone App to see if you are still having the same issues.

I've done that several times before, but on the off chance I didn't do exactly that in that order, I tried again.

I did get the "Connect your Sena headset with your phone and terminate the RideConnected App" message again to start, but the app then seemed to respond.

SO this was promising, but after I reset the setting in the app, I thought I'd reboot my phone to see if it would connect again.

No dice, back to the "Connect your Sena headset with your phone and terminate the RideConnected App" and "Bluetooth connection lost" whenever I check. As before, initial success but not lasting.

Certainly performing a factory reset over and over again is untenable, any other suggestions?

@Ulysses: To eliminate the possibility of the headset being the cause of the problem, pair the 20S with a different Android phone and see if you can use the Sena Smartphone App on a different phone.

Just one more thing to check. Make sure you have the most recent update of the Sena Utility app.  I remember having a similar problem a few updates back and the older version of the app didn't work with the newer 20s firmware update.

Will do but it'll be with an older phone model then.

Sure hope not, this was already a replacement unit due to the prior one not being able to initiate group intercoms (although able to be party to them).

Very odd also considering the unit pairs with the phone and works fine without the app.

Will report later on the results.

Not an issue here, have the most up to date versions of all firmware, management and utility apps. Had to as part of the troubleshooting process regardless.

Problem is this issue started with the latest firmware update. Was fine prior to that.

beyond doing a fault reset and a factory default reset and insuring updated app I am at a loss.  Sounds like a call to CS is in order

Already have a ticket in, saw this thread and subscribed. Sure hope not. As stated this is already a 2nd unit.

If you can use the Sena Smartphone App after you paired your 20S to a different phone without any issues, then it's a problem with your ZTE Zmax Pro.

If you can't use the Sena Smartphone App on a different phone whether it be an Android phone or a iPhone then it's a problem with the 20S which can be replaced under our warranty service.

I'll recommend to my friend to also try a different iphone or ipad for his same issue.

Ok crap, on my old Galaxy we Utility 1.10 the unit hooked up right away. Updated to v 1.13 to check and it appears to also work. Still odd that it worked on the ZTE until the firmware update and that everything else works.
In any case, inconvenient but I guess I will have to use my old phone for on the fly group setting for now.
Thanks anyway for the help. I will refer my ticket to this thread as response was better here anyway.

That's how firmware works sometimes. Something in (or missing from) the code causes a conflict somewhere that may not affect everybody.

It's possible, though I wouldn't count on it, that a subsequent firmware update restores connectivity with your ZTE.

Can you do a Restore of the ZTE's software? This usually updates/restores a phone's firmware as well.

I'm having an issue with static that I have to isolate before I can complain, but it may be due to upgrading to v.1.7.2 firmware.

Well as an update, it randomly does or does not (mostly not) connects to either phone now. I've reconnected with my friends on one of those occasions so just dealing with it for now.

For us Android users there's an app that would save your group settings. I highly recommend it. If only there was a way to figure out each unit's ID.
