50R Won't Charge
I have a 50R that won't fully charge. I have tried everything that I can think of from updating the firmware to different cables and chargers. When I first plug it in the light on the 50R shows red and the charger shows that it is charging the 50R. After 1-2 minutes the light on my 50R turns blue and the device stops charging. When I unplug it and turn it on, it gives me a low battery warning. Do you have any ideas on how I can fix this problem? The unit is about 2 years old. I have had to keep the unit plugged in while riding to use it or the battery runs out after a few minutes of use.

You said you tried different chargers and cords, but you should still try this step again. Make sure that the cord and adapter you use will work with your GoPro 50R. If possible, use the charging cords that came with the gadget or official replacements. People who want fast-paced underground action will love Tunnel Rush, which has nonstop tunnels full of tasks and dangers. Speed freaks put their foot on the gas and tear through the underground track, making split-second choices as they go through confusing mazes of tunnels. My 50r has exhibited similar issue. Contacted Sena rep who suggested a fault reset. Did that several times to no avail. Whe I attempt to charge it shows a red light for a couple minutes then blue. I have left the unit to charge for various lengths of time, but always the same result. No power. The rep said they do not have a repair center/service and since the unit is out of warranty there is nothing more that can be done.
This unit was changed out only a few months ago to replace the original that was still under warranty and experiencing a different set of problems. Since now it is past the two years since purchasing the original, the replacement date doesn’t count for anything. Alex,If you are interested See ticket number 794070.

Hi Michael, I just wanted to warn you that they won't be able to help you fix your problem. The average response time to each question is between 1-2 weeks. In the end they will tell you to buy a new unit.

Thanks John. I expect nothing more. I am considering trying to replace the battery against sena’s “recommendation”. If that fails I guess I will have a $300 paperweight. I thought this was a good company that offered quality products; guess I missed that one.

Same issue here, blue light after 30s then it won't charge. When unplugged, after 1-2min no battery. Sena needs to address this, please.

I have the same problem- BMW branded 50 R - from what I have read SENA will be no help at all - I will “vote with my feet” and never buy SENA again- shame.

Sent my unit back to the BMW dealer and was refunded. Same issue. Will go for another brans next time as SENA does not seem to dig into this problem.

Same problem. Sena 50R started this after only 2 months from brand new. Plus other problems. Cannot activate Mesh at all, not on the device, and not from the app (where Mesh is greyed out). Furthermore, cannot update firmware, via WiFi nor via PC. So many issues with a premium product. I bought a Cardo Edge for my other helmet and wow, everything just works exactly as expected with the Cardo. Now I want to use the Helmet with the Sena 50R again, but after several days of utter frustration, trying everything multiple times, spending dozens of hours online hoping to find a solution, I am about to give up and toss the Sena. Tragic lack of technical after-sales support from Sena. I am actually a dealer and have sold hundreds of Sena units, but have stopped selling Sena. I cannot support such a faulty product. I had similar issues with my two previous Sena 30K units too, so its not just a once-off issue. I see many others are having endless drama with their Sena products. Sorry Sena, you do not deserve to survive in this market. Bye-bye Sena!
