    Go to page 23 of the user guide (link below), see 10.13 Fault Reset

    I would also perform the Factory Default Reset on page 22. After that, you need to re do the pairing with your phone.

    Sounds like your SMH5 might have a firmware or hardware issue. You can try resetting the device by holding the phone button for about 10 seconds until you hear a reset prompt. If that doesn’t work, charge it fully and try updating the firmware through the official Sena app. If the problem persists, you may need to consider an RMA claim for a replacement.
