    Hi Scott,

Are you still having problems with your SMH10R turning off automatically?

I've been having the same problem with my SMH10B since around the time of your post. After 15 minutes of audio playback, audio cuts off completely. There's no "Goodbye" or any other indication that the SMH10 is shutting down. My phone continues to indicate a bluetooth connection and continues to play. After a few seconds, the phone stops playing and indicates a loss of bluetooth connection. At this point, I can turn the SMH10 on like normal and restart audio playback.

I only pair my SMH10 with my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I listen to locally stored podcasts. I'm typically playing the podcasts back at speeds greater than 1x (usually 1.75x). I just tried it at normal speed and the Sena still shut off at 15 minutes.

My Note 2 is rooted and has a Cyanogenmod ROM installed. The Sena worked fine with the phone for about 2 months, maybe a little more ( I got the Sena for Christmas). I upgraded my phone to a newer build of Cyanogenmod and started having problems with my SMH10 turning off after 15 minutes of solid playback.

Since then, I have upgraded my phone to newer builds of Cyanogenmod about 3 times. I still have the problem with my Sena. I upgraded the SMH10 firmware to 5.0.1. I think it came with 4.2.1. When I continued to have problems, I disabled the Sena's High Quality A2DP. The Sena software says "Please disable it in case there are frequent audio disconnections while listening to music". That hasn't helped either.

I'm posting all of this in the hopes that it might lead to a solution or draw other folks who may be experiencing similar symptoms.

I have this problem with my Sena SMH5. about 15 Minutes and everything just stops. i watched my Smartphone (s4) and saw that it had the bluetooth connection but then it just cuts of. before my phone loses its connection, the blue LED status light from my SENA device turns off. i have to turn it on again which is really not what i want. i tought it only happens when there is no sound played but it does not matter if im using my navigation or my music player. The device turns off after about 15 minutes. it is fully charged and everything... this is really annoying

I fixed my Sena SMH10 by performing a Fault Reset and a Factory Reset of the device. If you search for those terms, you should be able to find Youtube videos of how to perform them.

The steps for both resets can also be found in the User's Manual for the device. The steps are the same for the SMH10 and SMH5.

Fault Reset: With the device turned on, use a paperclip to press the reset button on the back side of the device for 1 second. The device should turn itself off.

Factory Reset: Press and hold the Phone button for 12 seconds (the light should end up turning solid red). Release the Phone button. Within 5 seconds, press the Jog Dial to confirm the reset.

I was having the same problem.  I downloaded the Sena app on my Galaxy S8 and turned off the "High Quality A2DP" setting.  My podcast played for 40 minutes straight without interruption.  Lets hope this is the solution to the problem.
