[SMH10R] no more than 30 meters range...
Hello,
I've bought the SMH10R dual version some weeks ago.
I'm very glad when using it with my smartphone and my Garmin GPS, but in intercom (bike to bike) mode, we don't have more than 30 meters range (open fields, smartphone and GPS not connected, so only intercom function is active), whereas product is announced with a range of 900 meters. Even if we don't need 900 meters (300 meters would be fine), the 30 meters range we have is really not enough.
Is there some configuration to do or installation recommandation to improve the range ? Are our units defective ?
For information, we've updated our units under the last 4.3 firmware to have french vocals.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Laurent

we also have a pair of SMH10R intercoms. One of the intercoms can hear the other over reasonable distances, the other one does not get a signal when the distance is greater than 20 meters. within that range reception is acceptable, but 20 meters is not even close to the advertised 900 meters. both units have been reset and both have had the firmware updated. is one of them faulty or is there some configuration trick to getting the full intercom range? I have the same complaint with my SMH10. When we're all close, like 10 to 20 feet we can all communicate, but when it gets out to ~50' the received audio is mushy and sounds like a torn 2" speaker.

I have a new SMH10R that has at best 10meters of range, that with fair amount of static too. I reset as instructed by the help desk and no change. My sets are unuseable, pretty much useless.
Hope there will be a response from my latest query to tech support, but Im keeping my expectations low.
