My device manager won't let me select the required device

When I start up my device manager it dosnt let me select the required device

  Having the same problem with my new 20S.  Followed the instructions to a "T".  (several times).  

  THEN, and this is scary, the 20S won't turn on at all.   I'm hoping that I simply ran down the battery.  Will try again tomorrow.
