Thank you for your suggestion. We will do the feasibility study of applying the adapter that connect speakers and earbud earphone at the same time. We will keep you informed later.

NO Guys.  You have missed the point!

I am not suggesting an adapter so that you can use both AT THE SAME TIME!.   Look at your pictures of the unit.  There is a plug that is used to plug the helmet speakers into.  This is a unquie SENA plug.  Either make this plug a 3.5 mm plug or make an adaptor that will accept a 3.5 mm plug which is the standard plug used for ear bud speakers.

Your response above inducates that it is either an automatic response or you do not understand the suggestion I have made!

Kym, I understand your point. We will consider an additional adapter for 3.5 mm general plug as an accessory. Thank you for advice.

I second the idea of offering an adapter for 3.5mm plug as an accessory for those of us that use earbuds/isolators.

Good suggestion Kym. I am still waiting for my SMH10R to arrive. It would be nice to use earbuds instead of the helmet speakers!

I love this system. I have a low profile lightweight helmet, and this design complements it so well. Also, the functionality is exceptional. Unfortunately, the design focus on my helmet is for weight reduction (after safety of course), and noise reduction takes a big hit for that. The only way for me to hear well, especially at interstate speeds, is to use earbuds. The SMH10R works great off the highway, but once i pass 70mph, there's no discerning what i'm hearing, even with the volume way up. What would take this system from great to perfect, for me, would be an adapter for a 3.5mm general plug. My brother has an SMH10, and I've seen, from his experiences with Sena, that you respond quickly and accurately to customer feedback. So, I look forward to a solution to this request, and would appreciate updates as they become available. Thanks for a great product and equally great customer service.

It is supposed to be provided as an option. We are gonna provide optional earbud adapter for SMH10R and it would take a couple of month until we provide it. Thanks for your feedback.

Sorry to be a stickler on waiting exaclty a couple months for a development, but is there any word on Sena providing the optional SMH10R earbud adapter? My dad and my brother are chomping at the bit to go riding together, and they each have a SMH10, so I'm eager to get more use out of my SMH10R. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I am another waiting for the earbud adapter before me and 4 buddies buy this setup for a long trip. We will need to purchase these by mid May (2013) or select a different brand. Can you be more specific on release date?

If you cannot deliver this product soon, can you provide the pin-out for the speaker connector for those of us willing to make our own adapter?

Hi Sena Technologies,  In Feb it was 2 months.  Its now two months and I believe your customers deserve better than your latest response.  We are not happy being patient, we are most unhappy.  A definite response would be appreciated.  It is better to set a realistic expectation ... even if that is 6 months ... than to disrespect your customers with bland platitudes.

    @ Ray, Chris

We are sorry to inform you that SMH10R's earbud adaptor will be released before August. Please understand that there are physical time needed to develop, test and other related process. Also adaptor includes electric parts, so it is not recommended to make adaptor yourself.

We are sorry to make you wait, and thank you for your attention!

add me on that list for adapter, been debating on the smh10 because of being able to use my own speakers--- seen the R version---that would look much better on helmet. if it wasn't for this post i would not be ordering me one. Im glad you guys are working on this and listen to your costumers..ALOT of people want to use there own speaker set up...my view was the smh10 was better then most because it had this option...im going to go ahead and order a smh10R ( and cant w8t for adapter to come out...if possible can i be e-mailed when they become available?..heck let me be one of the testers! lol...... seriously can we set up a e-mail list so we can get notified when they are available?

Please provide an update as to when an earbud adaptor will be available for the SMH10R.  I would purchase two units immediately if such adaptors were available.

Looks like it shouldn't take more than 10 mins based on this > http://support.senabluetooth.com/entries/23082708-Can-you-use-earbuds-with-the-new-SMH10R-?page=1#post_21638860 thread so why are we waiting around for "testing" for something that is this simple. Shove the lawyers back in the closet and get'r done.

Looks like this is available now, or at least will be in 1-3 weeks according to the shipping estimate: http://www.buysenabluetooth.com/smh10r/sc-a0305.html

Thanks to Scott for spotting this.

I just saw on eBay people are modifying the SMH10R for $35. I hope Sena is still working on the challenges of engineering a 3-pin adapter. Let me know if you need help.

Hey guys - show a little respect here! (Cary, Kim, Chris & Scott)

Your tone of chirpring is not doing you any favours....

If you don't like Sena...buy another product! Sena are NOT at your beck & call! They big enough to accept 'our' input - be gracious enough in respecting that!
