This is very important. I wish to use the smartphone to listen to music and make hands free calls as per normal and ideally the SM10 should be connected to the 20S as the SR10 can be: audio from the SM10 should be heard in the background.

It is a mystery why the SM10 was omitted from the 20S manual and functionality.

Jeff: Currently you can pair the iPhone using mobile phone pairing then pair the SM10 using either mobile phone pairing or media selective pairing (both will give the same outcome). After the SM10 is paired to the 20S then it will be using the A2DP profile that the phone was previously using. However, if you turn the SM10 off then you can wait for the iPhone to go back to using the A2DP profile for music and/or GPS apps. It is not possible to make the audio for directions on a GPS devices as a secondary A2DP profile because it depends on how the GPS was designed by the manufacturer. For example, the audio on all Garmin Zumos use HFP for transmitting audio to a Bluetooth headset and the music on all Zumos are using A2DP for transmitting stereo audio.

Thane: The SR10 only uses the HFP profile which has a higher priority than the SM10 which uses the A2DP profile and has the lowest priority. So it is not possible to change the SM10's position on the priority list.

However, as of now there is a unchangeable priority list of Bluetooth profiles that the 20S uses but we will consider having the option for users to change it.

    You have my request wrong..

Without messing with paring order and which one uses A2DP by turning any device off, I wish to connect 2 stereo devices to the 20s using a A2DP profiles.  For example, paired with a stereo music source (e.g.mp3 player through SM10) and my iPhone both using A2DP profiles.

As far as configurable prioritization, I am requesting that it determine the sound if both devices are outputting at the same time. If one is prioritize higher than the other it would mute the lower.  If both are prioritized the same, the sound should be mixed.  Keep in mind that driving a motorcycle and turning devices off and managing pairing is difficult and most riders would just prefer to turn off the music source from one or the other devices.

In addition, my Zumo 550 does not support A2DP.  I have to use a device like the SM10 which is paired as A2DP to get stereo from the MP3 player in the Zumo 550 to include turn-by-turn directions.  So, turning off the SM10 to listen to music from the iPhone is not plausible since I will not have voice directions.  Also, I am planning on inputting radar detection through the SM10, which also  would not allow it to be turned off.

Jeff has a great idea here, I have a similar need.

I carry 2 phones with me, one for work and one for personal.  I would like to have the ability to play music via A2DP from either device, regardless if it is device 1 or device 2.

My typical configuration, would be to have my personal phone for phone calls, and my work phone for Music Streaming and Navigation, Navigation is using on board application such as Google Maps or Waze.

I simply (or maybe not so simply) would like to be able to switch the highest priority from the A2DP 1st phone  to the HFP 2nd phone, either through the iPhone app or maybe even via the Sena 20S unit itself.   Many of us use the GPS for MP3 Music, XM Radio, Audio Books, etc. in addition to riving directions and alerts.  So we must pair the Zumo to the A2Dp input.  It works perfectly except that the diving directions, rain alerts, recalculating alerts, etc. take highest priority over intercom.

One would think that this would be a minor nuisance that we can easily live with.  But it isn't.  Consider this scenario, for instance:

Riding on a trip with several motorcyclists.  The decision is made to go off route to get something to eat.  As soon as we go off route, the Zumos start complaining.  The Zumo lady tries over and over to recalculate to get us back on path.  We're trying to communicate between riders (intercom) as we locate a restaurant . . . .but the Sena won't let us intercom so long as the Zumo is alerting or directing.  At the moment we need the intercom the most, it's blanked out.

I believe that lowering the A2DP priority would alleviate this condition.  The HFP pairing could then have highest priority for smartphone connection.   Making the two phone priority options available would allow us to eliminate the condition described above.

I concur with Jeff, having those 2 features would be a huge plus to Sena products:

    1) Permit 2 (or more) profiles for A2DP just like you already to for HFP.

    2) Allow adjusting priority of all profiles

    Thx,

    --Felix

This is a great, and important idea.  What is the chance of implementation Sena?

I'll vote for this one as well. I have a HTC (android) for phone and GPS, and an iPod for music. If I set up the phone for both A2DP and HFP I get both phone and GPS, but the iPod doesn't work. If I connect the iPod and get music, the phone connection drops the A2DP, uses HFP only and I get no GPS. Perfect implementation would also include the ability to set priority via the smartphone app, so that I can tell the 20s that the iPod is less important than the phone (ie GPS directions override the music).

OK I've spoken to Support regarding this issue. The 20s only has a single A2DP connector and what we're after here requires multiple (2+). This is a hardware issue and cannot be resolved through a firmware update.

Wish list for the 30s? Maybe 3 A2DP to support several devices?

We were able to add a second A2DP profile to the 20S through the v1.6 firmware update. If you pair a device using Mobile Phone pairing then it will use HFP and A2DP and if you pair a second device using Second Mobile Phone Pairing then it will also use HFP and A2DP.

I think that this is fantastic news! If I'm reading this correctly, it means that we can pair our Zumo GPS devices as phone 2 for stereo music, driving directions, etc, and the Zumo will share the same priority as intercom, FM radio, and other devices. Phone 1 will ha I highest priority for phone calls. If that's so, this is huge!

Ken, yes but be aware the zumo 550 does not broadcast stereo and the output volume is too low an needs amplified. I run my 550 through a an stereo amplifier and then transmit with a BT xmitter. I do not know about all the other models, but the 660 does not have either of these issues.

Hey, Jeff.  That's one of the reasons I upgraded as soon as the 665 came out.  That, weather radar, etc. were just too good to not have.  I get plenty of volume from my Zumo through the Sena for local riding.  For highway riding, I use sound-blocking earbuds with the volume really down low.

I hope to test the new 20S feature; maybe this weekend.  The User's Guide doesn't really mention how their improvement is so very useful.  If it does what I think, I will deem my 20S to be exactly what I expected when purchased 18 months ago.  There are other annoyances (popcorn sounds, etc.) but the inability to use the GPS's  as it was intended without losing intercom every time i it alerted is a very big deal.

Sena, I tried this new firmware and it is unclear what will be the priority for such 2nd mobile phone (since I cannot test intercom interruptability for now)

    Can you clarify?

Besides that, I cannot control the "previous" (push and rotate the jog dial) although I can do play/pause and next. Something is buggy in the hidden AVRCP bluetiith profile in there.

The june 6th 2016 firmware 1.6.1  seems to fix the formerly  non-working "previous" track action when using the GPS pairing.
