Zello/Voxer Intercom Proxy
My 10R intercom is easy to use and works well, but the 3 party limit and individual pairing is a pain. I have a Motorola MU 350 Bluetooth paired to the 10R to provide walkie-talkie style group communications but that requires another radio and a separate $80 Bluetooth PTT button. Not many fellow riders are going to bother with that $150 solution. But adding another radio is not necessary most of the time. My smartphone is already paired to my headset and it is capable of walkie-talkie style communications using Zello or Voxer - at least while within cellular data range. However, the Sena headsets do not work with Zello or Voxer. The Sena headsets pair with smartphones using the voice (as in cellular) and music Bluetooth Profiles. They don't pair using the Bluetooth Intercom Profile so when you try to use Zello or Voxer when paired with your headset you can hear a conversation but you have no mic in or PTT.
I would like Sena to add the option to be able to pair my Sena headset intercom to my smartphone using the Bluetooth Intercom Profile such that the conversation is proxied to my Zello or Voxer account. This will allow all riders in the group to participate in a ride channel by pairing their headset to their smartphone running the Zello/Voxer proxy. The Zello/Voxer proxy should appear to be just another headset that you are pairing with. In this way, the headset intercom UI remains the same and the Sena remotes will work as the PTT for Zello/Voxer conversations.
If Sena wants a way to truly distinguish the value of their headsets versus all the others... this is it.

Hi!
I'm bumping this request because I believe that it would be beneficial for Sena to have to possibility to use 3rd party apps for voice communications. Sure, I'm fully aware that you have your RideConnected app but that's again only for Sena users. When it comes to my hobby, we always use Zello because that's an application what is available for many platforms and you don't even need a headset for it (even though it's recommended).
So yes Sena, please make your headset fully usable with 3rd party applications!

I'm encountering the same problems. I use zello in paragliding flights. Is that not an option?
