Additional things to fix
Some fixes I'd like to see for the 20s. iPhone music won't automatically resume when SR10 is used in the system. (works fine with my SMH10 connected to iPhone and SR10). Music sharing does not work when 20s is connected to a SMH10 (worked fine between two SMH10's). Audio multi-tasking does not work very well when connected to an SMH10 - audio cut outs and mic noise from SMH10 seems to be activating feature continuously and adjusting sensitivity does not seem to help. Fix the earbud buzz problem. (It's very minor with mine but others report significant problems). FM radio sensitivity very poor - only receives very strong stations nearby.
From all that I have been reading, the new features seem to work best when everyone has a 20s. It would be nice if there was better backward compatibility since a lot of us still use SMH10's and SR10's. If these compatibility issues with the SMH10 and SR10 are inherent to the newer technology of the 20s and cannot be resolved, then at least disclose the incompatibility so folks considering a 20s and still have SMH10's or SR10 that they are planning to use can make an informed decision on whether to upgrade or not.
That being said, I really like the superior noise cancelling microphone of the 20s. The sidetone feature is better on the 20s - not too loud or too soft. The mount is perfect with audio options built in rather than having to get an accessory mount, and the securing of the unit to the mount is much better. Firmware upgrade procedure is much better - not having to turn unit on or press buttons during upgrade. Ideally, I would like to see this upgrade process be more web based and not having to install a device manager on the computer. I would think that would solve many computer related issues people have. Having ambient audio is a nice feature too. Fix the above problems and it would be almost perfect, at least for me. And as usual it's all about me! :)

I agree with your entire assessment having experienced the same issues as you. Hope someone from Sena is monitoring this forum thread.

Bdawley - I had submitted a service request to Sena on these issues last week and they had gotten back to me after a couple days requesting additional information. I will keep you appraised on what is being done on this thread. Ken

Bdawley & Ken:
I was riding with my friend last weekend. He has a SMH10B and I was using my 20S to intercom with him. Every time I connected (which is MUCH faster than before with 2 SMH10Bs), I got a horrible buzz in my left ear. Just for the record, I was wearing a set of Sensaphonic ear buds. The noise was only present during intercom connections. When listening to BT music from my K1600GT, the sound was fine. There was also some low-level buzz when turn-by-turn directions were given from the BMW Navigator V. There also seemed to be times when there was a low-level buzzing which faded away after about 5-10 seconds. This usually happened just after a turn-by turn voice notification and when no music was playing.
My FM radio is not useable. Terrible reception. I understand that Sena is replacing units sent back with a RMA, but that they're out of stock with the 20S units until mid September.
Oh well...fingers crossed that firmware updates will correct many of these issues.

Pfiedler - thanks for your comment. I agree with you about faster connection times for intercom. Phone syncs up much faster too on startup. Take a look at last few comments in the message string, "Static when using the new Apple earbuds". It appears Sena has solved the buzz problem and at least one user received the newer unit and the buzz is gone. From Sena the affected units were serial numbers 1406xxxx and earlier. I'm waiting on an open ticket for a response on my other issues - I don't want to keep sending units back for replacement every time something is fixed.

Ken:
Thanks for the information.
I have a dual set of 20S. The serial number for both units starts with 1406XXXX! Looks like I'm in the "need to fix" group! What method of getting Sena's attention to initiate a warranty repair have you used? I'm concerned that if I send them back, given that Sena is out of 20S currently, that it won't be until late September or early October before I get replacements.
Arghhhhh!!!!

Pfieder - Go to the top of this page and click submit a request. Let them know what your problem is. Given they are already aware of the problem most likely they will want to replace your unit. They will ask you to submit your receipt and will provide a RMA and instructions so you can return it to them. Give them a few days to get back to you - I heard they are really busy. I would let them advise if they are able to replace it right away. Stuff always changes and rumors abound in the forums. I've had pretty good response with past product and got warranty replacement in just a couple of days from when they issued an RMA. You can also call them - I believe they have an 800 number on their help desk page.

Heard back from Sena. They acknowledged some compatibility issues and are actively working out fixes. I'm patient enough to wait. I remember when the SMH10 v2 came out there were teething pains too so I am confident they will be able to fix the issues given time. Hang in there everyone.

Same here I bought the 20S waiting to solve the problems when I was sharing music with my pillion, now seems like I cannot share at all!!!

New firmware 1.2 fixed the 20s problem with resuming music after using the two way radio with the SR10. Also the warranty replacement solved the earbud buzz. Thanks! Still needs to be able to share music with a SMH10 and also be able to add SMH10's to a group intercom list. I know chasing all these compatibility issues are a pain in the A**.

I got New 20S from Sena last week. Yes it is New and already different.
I didn't have a time to play with it yet, but here is couple things I already noticed:
-it is tighter build (no gaps between main body and silver cover),
-torx screws are now set with silicone,
-Jog dial is has a tighter feel as well (in previous two models I could turn the dial with one finger while resting unit on the table, not with new one- which is good),
-new box (single set) is taller (new is 3-5/8" vs old 3-1/4"),
-new 20S kit now includes thinner speaker pads (new are about 50% thinner),
-new 20S kit now includes foam speaker covers as well.
That's about it, so far. So yes, new Sena 20S already feels better- tighter (build quality).0 -
I (we, my 3 friends and I that have some of the very first units produced) have new 20S's coming as well. I'm really glad to hear that they tightened up the jog dial detent. At highway speeds in West Texas, I was having to reach up and adjust the volume every 30 seconds or so, the wind was turning the dial.
I'm anxious to experience the FM radio working. Mine has been silent from day one unless I hold my head just right and in proximity of the radio transmitting tower/station.
I do wish sena would let it's users know specifically which "other bugs and fixes" they are addressing with each firmware change.Ken

I'm still experiencing a lot of issues when trying to pair my 20 to a 10. Hopefully they work towards fixing this still.
