Music from iPhone audio cuts out on 20s
I have a Sena 20s purchased in 2014 with firmware 1.6 and an iPhone 6s with iOS 9.3.2. About a month ago I noticed when playing music using Apple Music with music stored locally on the phone (not streamed) the music would suddenly randomly stop playing after a time ranging from 10 seconds to 3 songs. On the iPhone Apple Music is still playing the music but no audio can be heard through the 20s. Attempts to stop and start result in the iPhone showing that the music stops and starts but it is not played over the 20s. The 20s responds with audio when adjusting volume or pressing to stop/start audio. Siri also responds when I click the phone button but I cannot get the music to come through the 20s again until on the iPhone I deselect the 20s as the audio out device and reselect it. I do not have any issues with phone calls or intercom.
My troubleshooting steps have been to do a factory reset on the 20s 4 times in a row (no change). Re-pairing the iPhone multiple times (no change). I tried downgrading to the 20s to firware 1.5 (no change). I also tried using different music apps and they have the same behavior. I also tried using a tablet running Android 5.1 and the behavior persists.
Most of my usage for the 20s has been music so not being able to play music for longer than a couple minutes has been very frustrating. What can I do to resolve this issue?

What I would try next is to go to the Sena App and write down all the settings you are using then select factory default to get it back to the original settings. Perhaps some of settings changed that are interfering with the music playing - just a thought.

Make sure the antenna on the 20S is up.
You can also try turn off the Bluetooth on the phone and turn it back on. This will reset the Bluetooth radio on the phone.
Also try to turn off and on the phone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo

Thank you for the replies. In addition to the troubleshooting steps listed in my original post, I have done numerous factory resets and numerous fault resets on the 20s, they have never resulted in a change in behavior. I have performed numerous restarts of the 20s and iPhone as well as enable/disable bluetooth on the iPhone and none of these actions have ever resulted in a change in behavior.

See if you can borrow another iPhone and pair it to your Sena. If the problem clears up you can pretty much suspect it is a phone problem rather than the sena.

Thanks for the reply Ken. I also tested locally stored music on an Android device (Nexus 7 running 5.1) and experienced the same behavior. I do not believe the issue to be the iPhone.

Has this issue been resolved, as I am having the same problem also with my 20S?

I too have experienced the issue of music playing for random lengths of time them suddenly stopping, I have re-set both the 20s and replaced the phone.lookig at all the feedback I'm at the point where the only choice seems to be a different make of headset, as much as I love the Sena listening to music is 80% of my day to day use. Has anyone found a solution ? 0 -
I am too experiencing this issue.

Same issue here too. Though I sometimes hear a static burst, and the issue is very intermittent.

So, this is a bit late after the fact. I have a senna 30K that also cuts out. Tomorrow I will check out this last possibility. My voice activation is active, my music cuts out at speeds above 45 MPH. I think its the ambient noise activating the mic. I am going to try to change the setting to a much higher level and or turn it off to see if it persists.
