SENA and Bell MAG-9 Helmets

I'm new to SENA and also new to motorcycle-to-motorcycle communication, I've never used this kind of technology but now with some of the groups I ride with I'm beginning to see the advantages so it's time for me to do my due diligence and investigate how I can make it work for me. 

I currently have a Bell Pit Boss Half Helmet, I'm not fond of any full face type of helmet due to a little bit of tendencies towards claustrophobia. I know there are SENA kits that are mountable in a half-helmet like the Pit Boss but it seems more logical to me to get an open-face 3/4 helmet for this due to the obvious wind noise differences. I'm looking at purchasing the open-face 3/4 Bell MAG-9 motorcycle helmet that has the built-in mounting pocket on the left side for the SENA. My current understanding is that this helmet was designed to accept an older SENA (SMH10?). Since information I have found online from retailers is a little bit confusing for someone that's new to this and prior to purchasing this helmet and getting stuck with a helmet that no longer has an available SENA system that will properly mount in that mounting pocket on the helmet, I have some questions for SENA related to the components that can be mounted in this MAG-9 Sena mounting pocket.

1. Exactly which SENA components (part numbers please) are currently available that will properly mount in this Bell MAG-9 Helmet?

2. My current understanding is that the older SENA that fits in the MAG-9 helmet doesn't have the newer MESH intercom communication built in, is it possible to upgrade the older SENA that fits in the MAG-9 helmet to include the modern technology? (Yes I know that the +Mesh is available)

3. If #2 is not possible; is there an interface adapter that will mount in the older SENA mounting pocket built into the MAG-9 helmet that will allow the newer 50 series SENA's to mount in this space? If no adapter is available, why not?
