Hello Gavin,
When the voice prompt on your SENA SRL 01 stopped working after a firmware update, it could be due to several potential reasons. Here's a list of common causes and steps to resolve the issue:
1. Firmware Update Glitch
- Sometimes, a firmware update might not install properly, leading to glitches or missing features.
- Solution: Try reapplying the firmware update, either by downloading the latest version again or using a different method (e.g., updating via SENA's app if you used the web interface previously).
2. Voice Prompt Feature Disabled
- The firmware update might have reset some settings or disabled specific features.
- Solution: Check the device settings through the SENA app or via the configuration interface to ensure that the voice prompt is enabled.
3. Voice Command Compatibility
- Newer firmware versions may update voice command features, possibly changing the commands or how they function.
- Solution: Verify that the commands you were using before the update are still valid with the current firmware version. SENA may have updated the language or syntax for the voice prompts.
4. Microphone or Speaker Issue
- A hardware issue, such as a problem with the microphone or speaker, might prevent the device from hearing or delivering the voice prompts.
- Solution: Test the microphone by making calls or testing the intercom. If it's not working, there could be a loose connection or a hardware failure, which would require inspection or repair.
5. Bluetooth Pairing or Connection Problems
- Sometimes, Bluetooth connectivity issues after a firmware update can interfere with audio functions, including voice prompts.
- Solution: Unpair and then re-pair your SENA SRL 01 with your phone or other Bluetooth devices to resolve connection issues.
6. Reset to Factory Defaults
- If all else fails, performing a factory reset can resolve any persistent issues caused by the firmware update.
- Solution: You can reset the SRL 01 to factory settings through the SENA app or by holding the appropriate buttons on the device. Just make sure to back up any important settings first.
7. Check for Additional Updates
- The firmware update you installed might have introduced a bug, and there could be a patch or another update available that addresses it.
- Solution: Check for any new firmware updates from SENA or check their forums for reports from other users facing similar issues.
If none of these solutions work, contacting SENA's customer support might be necessary for further diagnosis or a potential hardware replacement.

Hi, thank you for this. I have looked at all the settings to ensure that the voice prompts haven't been tuned off. Please note that it is the voice prompts not voice commands that are the problem. These should be on in all cases in the command menu. I was going to factory reset the device but as the voice prompts in the command menu (settings) don't work I can't select this option. Please explain how this headset is factory reset through the app as I can't find an option for this. Thank you kind regards

The firmware update may have caused an issue with the voice prompts. Try performing a factory reset on your SRL MESH 01 and then re-pair it with Agario your device to see if that resolves the problem.

It sounds like your SRL MESH 01 lost voice prompts after updating to firmware 1.5. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try: Stickman Hook
1. Check Volume Settings
- Make sure the volume isn’t turned down or muted.
- Try adjusting the volume through the configuration menu (even if you can’t hear it, the setting might be off).
2. Reset Voice Prompts Setting
- Some firmware updates reset settings. Check the Sena Utility App to see if voice prompts are enabled.
3. Perform a Factory Reset
- Soft Reset: Hold the Mesh button for 10 seconds until you hear a beep.
- Hard Reset: Locate the small reset pinhole on the device, insert a pin, and hold for a few seconds.
4. Reinstall the Firmware
- If possible, reinstall firmware 1.5 via Sena Device Manager (on a PC or Mac).
- If problems persist, try rolling back to firmware 1.4 (if available).
5. Contact Sena Support
- If none of the above work, it could be a bug in firmware 1.5. Reach out to Sena Support or check their forums for any known issues with this update.
