On MAC OSX, if multiple USB devices are connected (i.e. through a HUB) then device manager does not recognize the headset when connected. Only method to get it recognized is by disconnecting all USB devices except for the headset.

Device manager should be able to detect the headset even when other USB devices are connected to the computer.
