Failed to Update Firmware. Cannot get status
Found that using a different USB cord and switching to a USB 2.0 port from a 3.0 port resolved the issue. I tried reboots and other suggestions but this is the one that worked for me.

Well,
My wife and I are both new to this Sena stuff. We have a pair of 1 month old (3/31/23) Sena 50S units and while they seem to work as they're supposed to while connected to our '18 Honda Goldwing Tour DCT Airbag, trying to get them to connect to either my 10 month old Windows 11 Laptop or, my wifes 2 year old desk top via either the Wi-fi USB cord that was supplied with the headsets or another USB cord, doesn't work. Neither computer will recognize either headset.
Is this what we paid over $600 for? Even though the box for the dual pack headsets states they are version 2.1.1 in firmware, I'd like to see that on any computer to confirm. And, not only that but, if there's a new version of firmware in the near future, how am I or we to actually convey that new firmware to the headsets if no computer recognizes them?

This did not work for me either...at first. Trying to upgrade my SRL2 to v 1.0.8 from v 1.0. I've tried multiple known working USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports on my PC case (connected to the motherboard via a cable) and multiple known working USB cables with no luck.
Then I used a USB 2.0 port on the back of my PC, which is part of the motherboard. It finally worked and updated the firmware!

I could not get it to work, then I decided to try every USB port on my PC. Suddenly one of them worked and the updates are in progress. I suspected a Comm error as the moment I unplugged the Sena 20S evo it would pop up as recognized. I have been down this path on other devices.

Well here I am too, just unpacked it from Amazon, shocked I even need a desktop app to perform a wire updated, is this 2023 where every actually smart IoT device can ben updated over wireless? not for this?
Then attempt the update from my macbook air (which does not have any USB port only USB-C), and here I get this error everyone was having for 2 years, I guess its going back tomorrow with a 1 star review.

I had a similar issue and then had to connect to a USB port 2 and then it upgraded fine.
Is there an expected eta for when this will get resolved?

Struggeled with same issue as above (.......cannot get status......). Connected with the wifi-cable (come with intercom) in an USB power source (not PC), got it connected as a wifi at my phone and open the SENA-app - connected. Nice, it works and i now have the lates firmware :-)0 -

Wait, my SC needs to be powered-of for firmware updates. so cant do anything with the app on the phone.

Sena turns it off when USB are connected. Set the other end (wifi dongle) in a power supply. Set the dongle in search mode, check wifi on your phone, Connect to «sena wifi»
Now, open app, and update should be available 👍🏼😊0 -
I did use a power supply. The SC2 is a SCHUBERTH/Sena product for the SCHUBERTH C5 helmet 😉

I have a Sena SRL 2 and a 50S. Using Sena Device Manager I was able to update the SRL 2 just fine. Using the same PC and USB port, but having to use a different USB cord (SRL 2 has micro-usb and 50S has USB-C), I get the Cannot get status error. It gets about 19% of the way done when I get the error. Tried different USB cords, and even switched USB ports. So why does it work with one but not the other?

Hi all,
Having read all the posts to try to find a solution on how to update my Sena30K with Sena Device Manager from my Windows 10 laptop via USB were I got all the above mentioned errors. "Cannot get status [1] [7] and [9] with some others as well..
I had a brand new 30K lying and mounting it on my new paragliding helmet, I connected it for a firmware update from original one, without luck.
I will copy/paste this into the other threads I found as well.
My solution have worked on other USB accessories with driver issues as well. I have a older Windows 7 pc and installed the latest version of the Sena Device Manager, then did the firmware update on the SENA without any problems.
NOW version 3.4 is installed on my 30K, AND i can communicate with the SENA from my Windows 10 laptop as well.

I found a sollution!
I found a usb to usb - C cable from a Cardreader from my camerastuff that allowed the slr-3 to be recognized.
after that i run the sena as administrator and in a compatible mode for win7
After that i startet the firmware upgrade and it completed :)0
