Recommendation to deal with lack of mesh on SRL2

I recently purchased a Shoei GT Air-2 and was planning to purchase the SRL2 before I found out it does not have Mesh technology. I ride with a fairly large group that uses mesh.

My wife (pillion) rides with a non-shoei helmet.

It appears because of the compartments on the GT I am be unable to attach a different model or brand communicator so I am kind of stuck.

I see that Sena is developing a mesh adapter that I assume would allow the SRL2 to become part of a mesh network. My understanding is that adapter may not be out until the end of the year.

I am open to suggestions. I really do not want to sell the GT-Air2 but my options seem limited.

Any help would be appreciated.
