I have a 60S running firmware v1.2.9 and am experiencing an issue with sidetone picking up an excessive amount of noise from my microphone. This only occurs when a Bluetooth intercom session is active or mesh is turned on and sidetone is on.

The level of background noise being picked up by the mic does NOT change when changing the intercom volume setting as I would have expected it to do (and as it does on the 50S). This is noticeable when using speakers, but it is completely unworkable with in ear monitors (earbuds) as the noise level picked up by this issue is overpowering with the more sensitive IEM’s.

I am requesting a firmware update to make the sidetone function more like the 50S where it’s level changes with the intercom volume setting. Sidetone should also output the audio signal AFTER AI noise suppression and settings impacted by the mic sensitivity setting (L1 vs L5).

As it stands today, it acts like a permanently open (hot) mic operating with a fixed volume gain and no AI noise processing.
