Rob Emery My 50S just updated to 2.1.1

Tom (masterX244) 2.XX firmware is for hardware revision 2. when yours is on 1.XX its the first hadware revision which got different chips inside. That difference is not clearly documented on the website (i only know it cause i got some monitoring on the update files to backup older versions)

Zool1 I understand there are two versions. I guess what I was trying to get at is how come they have the new mixed in with the old on the history page. It seems like they are allocating resources to version two so my other concern is with version 1. Is it considered end of life? The first firmware is from may 2020 I bought my units the summer of 2021. I would hate to think they are not going to provide updates or new features to version 1 when it’s only just over two years old.

Tom (masterX244) Last release for V1 was 16th january. they released a update vor V1 and V2 at same day. Checked my monitoring logs for that.
They probably keep the release notes mixed since normal users dont know of the 2 revisions and would look at wrong page.

Zool1 Ok just curious where you are getting your data. The only history page I know of is this https://www.sena.com/us-en/product/50s/firmware-history

Tom (masterX244) Some custom tooling and scheduled checking of the index file used by the update tools. I usually catch a upload in less than 6 hours after it gets added to the index. If you ever noticed the firmware file archive at archive.org: that archive is created by that tooling, too.
Edit: it often happens that the changelog on the website is not filled since it seems to be a manual process.

Kym Moulds You just have to love sena, NOT!!!!!

Tom (masterX244) Or noticing weird stuff being goofed up by them sometimes and then getting motivated to write that tooling.

lowbar My 1st gen 50S updated to firmware version 1.2.2 a couple of days ago. No mention of it on Sena website yet.

Ken Thompson I guess revision control techniques are a bit of a challenge for the professionals - imagine being a complete neophyte when it comes to that!
Which is what (nearly) every end-user has to discover.
-
Tom (masterX244) I recently saw some RC versions floating around for tjhe Impulse in the first revision

Chip Warfield Does the sena app tell you which version of the software you have installed?

Ken Thompson Chip Warfield The 'Sena Motorcycles' app will display the firmware revision on the home page. The 'Sena Bluetooth Device Manager' PC software will as well.
NOTE: Not a Sena representative, just a user of the products.
