Sena 5S crash when hang out a call while listenning music with Samsung s10e

    I just read this post and as I have a S10e also, I tested it.

    Shoot indeed the 5S crashes. It completely goes dead! (power down)

    Now I realize what issue I had during a ride, couldn't see it crashing.

    @Sena please fix this!

    I just had contact via chat with Sena and informed about this post. The guy is going to inform tier2 tech team. 

    I hope this will be fixed with firmware update, else we have a useless 5S.

    John I got in touch with Sena and they started a RMA proces to replace the 5S. I just asked them what will be different with the replaced unit, as if it is the same, and the same firmware, acoording to me the problem won't be fixed. 

    Did you hear anything from Sena? Or didn't get in touch with them?

    Did you get all the information I sent in via the RMA process? Like it happens with several Android (Samsung) phones? 

    This morning I wanted to know what happens with FM radio, well even worse!

    I just tried to see if the problem happens with FM too. Well I tried 5 times and 2 times it went fine. Listening to FM, pick up the call and hang up, brings you back to FM radio.

    But the other 3 times, are even worse then listening to Spotify. When the call comes in, Sena 5S crashes even before you can pick up the phonecall.

    Serious problem with the 5S!

    Hi, I have a xiaomi redmi note 9 pro and I have de same problem, as soon as the call finish the 5S shutdown completely. The other problem is that it doesn't pair automatically 90% of times.

    Just received a new unit from my seller. It has firmware 1.0 in it. Well too bad, the same problem. Unit crashes when you close the call. 

    Any news Sena? it has been some weeks and it is really easy to reproduce with (I think) all units.

    We really need an update, 5S is not working properly and users are considering returning the unit and buy another brand. My friends are waiting to buy the 5S but it isn´t working I will have to return them and buy the same they buy.

    Hi, same here in France with 3 diffrent 5S : 5S stop running after hang out a call while listenning music. On Galaxy S9 and S10+ (Android 10). Please Mr SENA SOLVE THIS ASAP! IF NOT, WE WILL BE OBLIGED TO CHANGE OF BRAND...

    Shall I buy Sena 5S or wait for firmware update in it?, I am using Samsung F41 and iPhone 11, will it work in both the models?

    Senthiil My answer (at the moment) would be NO. It is not a problem with some units, my conclusion is that every unit has this issue. Hopefully it can be fixed with a firmware update. I would wait for that. 

    We hear nothing from Sena, I try to get in contact, but without succes. Not a good sign. I think I will return my unit to the store and already agreed with them to get my money back. And then I will buy a Cardo Freecom (4+).

    A bit sad that after several weeks there is no sign from Sena at all.

To help them determine the cause of problem so that they can replicate it thoroughly, please submit a ticket to our Help Desk here  https://www.sena.com/support/submit-ticket and provide the following information to our support team:

    • Model of your phone
    • Operating system of your phone (iOS or Android)
    • Operating system version number of your phone

     

    If you can also include a video in your ticket submission showing the problem happening on your phone then that will also be helpful.

    Hi,

    Any news?

    I did what Sena asked: submit a ticket with smarphone infos and Android version. (SAMSUNG GALAXY S9 and S10+, both Android 10)

    Just an important detail: issue generaly occurs at the 2nd or 3rd call, rarely at 1st call.

    The firmware is available to download through the Sena Device Manager but the release notes for the firmware will be available soon.
