Phantom connectivity
Hi,
I just bought a Phantom helmet. Before my first ride with a friend, we tried to connect our intercoms. He uses a Cardo system, and although there should be a way to connect different brands via Mesh, we couldn’t establish a connection. It seems the Phantom helmet does not support Bluetooth intercom connectivity.
Why is this feature missing in a brand-new, high-end Sena product? I’m really disappointed, as I expected to purchase a top-of-the-line, up-to-date device.
Is there any chance a firmware update could enable Bluetooth intercom functionality?

Having exactly the same issue, only my Sena Phantom can't even pair with other Sena units. If this is a completely closed ecosystem that won't pair with anything other than Sena phantoms probably something we should have been told before dropping many dollars on a helmet with a useless comm system

Hello gentleman,
The helmets can be connected, just not via Mesh. Cardo and Sena both use proprietary mesh systems which are not compatible with each other. You'll need to use the universal intercom feature on both helmets to get a connection, or use the wave intercom.
Sorry I don't have better news for you!

This is somewhat frustrating hearing terminology that is just not accurate, then we can't figure out what you are trying to tell us. By that I mean there is no option for "universal intercom" or "wave intercom" with the Sena Phantom helmet.
Through much googling it was suggested that the actual config choice needed is "second mobile phone pairing mode". Is this what you mean? I've cycled through every single setting on the helmet multiple times trying to figure this out.
Perhaps it would assist if you can provide very specific, simple to follow, step by step instructions on how to put the helmet into "wave" or "universal intercom"

Thanks for your feedback but what is the universal intercom feature of the Phantom helmet? Universial bluetooth connection is not possible with the Phantom helmet because the Phantom helmet seems to not have a bluetooth intercom ... so what is the way to connect?

My sincere apologies about that. The Phantom series are one of the lines of helmets we produce that do not have the universal intercom feature, as it doesn't have bluetooth intercom, only bluetooth connectivity for pairing.
With that in mind, you were correct initially. These are Mesh only helmets, and Sena and Cardo at this time have not made their Mesh systems compatible. So the Phantom helmets can only have intercom with other Sena devices that feature Mesh.
