What is the difference between the R1 EVO and the R1?
The differences between the R1 EVO and R1 are:
- The R1 EVO includes Sena's Mesh 2.0 Intercom technology to make talking with other riders easy and simple to use. This is not available on the R1.
- The R1 EVO does not use Sena's Bluetooth Intercom technology that is used on the R1 so that connecting riders together can be as easy as possible.
- With Mesh Intercom on the R1 EVO, the amount of riders that can talk to each other is virtually limitless. The amount of riders that talk to each on the R1 is 4.
- The R1 EVO includes a voice command system that allows you to control all of the features on the helmet with the use of your voice. This is not available on the R1.
- The R1 EVO includes a pair of lights on the back of the helmet to improve your visibility to others while riding on the road. This is not available on the R1.
- The R1 EVO comes in Matte Black and Matte White. The R1 comes in Electric Tangerine, Ice Blue and Onyx Black.
- The weight of the R1 EVO is more than the R1. The R1 EVO (Medium size) is 405 grams. The R1 is (Medium size) is 380 grams.
- The talk time on the R1 EVO is 7 - 10 hours, depending on the how much the rear LEDs are used. The talk time for the R1 is 12 hours.
- The charge time for the R1 EVO is 2 hours. The charge time for the R1 is 2.5 hours.
- The R1 EVO has a Quick Charge feature that if you charge the battery for 20 minutes then you will be able to talk over the intercom for 3 hours. The R1 does not have a Quick Charge feature.
- The R1 EVO uses nylon chinstrap. The R1 uses an eco-leather chinstrap.
