I imagine my issue would apply to more people than just I, so I decided to post it as a suggestion. I purchased a Sena SC-HR-01 Handlebar Remote but returned it since I was unhappy with the fact that it would not pair with my phone.

Sometimes I use earbuds instead of the Sena communicator, and it is frustrating for it to be useless by design when it could also work paired with a smartphone as a normal media remote. I ended up buying and using a iSimple Portable Wireless Remote Control for Smartphones and Bluetooth Devices instead since it works with both earphones and the sena device as it works through the smartphones bluetooth. The only issue is that it is much more delicate, and is not wateproof (although light rain does not affect it). However since it costs only 25$ compared to Sena's 90$ remote, and is more versatile, I prefer it. If Sena made a high quality version of that remote (as in, that controls media through the Smartphone), I'd be happy to pay 90$ for it. But not as it works currently.

I understand that the Sena would lose some functionality paired only to the smartphone, but I'm sure that it could pair with either, or this could simply work through software via the Sena app. Or simply pair with the phone if it doesn't find the Sena device available.

Also, on future models, please include a mounting design which doesn't feel so vulnerable to theft. The design of the iSimple model is much superior to Sena's.

You would certainly open up your market if you did this, since a Sena communicator would not be required (which many don't have).

Anyway, I just wanted to give my opinion since it is a pity that Sena does not make a suitable product for people like me.
