Prism Tube and 3 Minutes Videos
I have a Prism Tube running firmware v2.0 and it saves videos in 3 minutes chunks.
I have tested in loop and regular recording modes.
Is this normal? Anyway to increase the file length?
Thanks

Currently, the only length of loop recording videos is 3 minutes. Secondly, make sure that you have the recording mode set to "Normal Mode" by holding down the Format Button for 1 second and see that the LED flashes twice while recording. In addition, to make sure that the Prism Tube is recording in "Normal Mode" you can check the RecordMode.txt file on the microSD card and have the number set to 0 (1 means that the Prism will be in Loop Recording Mode).

Hi Chris,
I wanted to comment that I my prism tube is currently flashing 1 blue light AND in the recording mode text file it is a 1: I am getting normal mode. This is opposite to what you are saying. Is this possible?

Any why can't you sort the questions into there own sub 'folder' so all Prism Tube info is in a sub forum ???
It is 2017 after all not 1996 !

I too have a Sena Prism WiFi and it works very well except that the 3 minute 700MB files are a PITA to deal with when making a video to share or just go through an hours worth of riding (20 files!).
Now I get that this is probably a developer/designer's decision so not to much video time is stepped on when overwriting in loop mode. Non-looped or normal recording mode makes one big file per recording, so we know its possible for bigger files to be captured per session.
What Im asking for is a firmware (and software GUI) update that allows the user to choose the loop recording file size (time). Can be as easy as a feature or function option line in the same file where the loop mode is defined, yes?
At least make some selections like 3, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 minute selections. Or make it smarter where it uses the user defined recording value, and when the drive gets to 90% capacity (or again user defined), just start making the smaller loop files, leaving the bigger files alone. Basically a hybrid of the normal and loop modes. So many things can be done instead of just a 3 minute bit bucket.

Hi Thomas. Thank for your feedback about the Prism Tube WiFi. We will pass along your request to our developers.

I have a Prism Tube and after a couple years of recording 20+ min segments it recently started recording in 3-minute increments. A hard reset did the trick (turn camera on, press the reset button with a pin). Also advise reformatting the card (turn camera on, press and hold the format button for 5 sec).... HTH!
