Phone/Helmet Volume
So got my Sena Impulse helmet. First off, I prefer my iPhone 13 Pro Max to be full volume when I’m using the phone alone by itself. I paired the phone with my helmet, and the first time a got a phone call it dang near blew my eardrums out. I adjusted the volume down button on the helmet to a comfortable level. All is well. Until I get home and turn the helmet off. Then I get a call and answer using my phone and it’s too quiet so I have to turn it up. Apparently headset phone volume is not working independently of the phone’s own volume control. I do not have that issue with other Bluetooth headsets that I own, nor did I have the issue with my Sena Outforce Helmet. I’m wondering if it’s a firmware issue. I’m running 1.2.1 which is the most recent. Intercom volume is fine.

Solved. When I initially paired the Impulse to my phone, it paired as Impulse v1.0.1. I was alerted to update the firmware via the helmet’s WiFi link. That upgraded the helmet to 1.2.1. However today I noticed in BT devices in my phone that it was still 1.0.1. So I deleted the helmet from my devices and then re-paired it to my phone. Now it’s showing 1.2.1 in my Bluetooth, and now phone volume and helmet volume work independently of each other.

It isn’t an issue at all. Keep phonecall volume set where you like it, and keep intercom set to where you like it. They work independently of each other, and the helmet remembers those settings when you power off the helmet and back on again.

That definitely sounds frustrating, especially with the audio acting up like that. Hopefully a quick update or reset will sort things out. Try to download latest version 2025 and see if it helps!

@Social Media Blogger did you even read that this issue has been solved? My phone volume and headset volume now work independently of each other, and the helmet remembers my settings in between power cycles. No problems at all

That volume syncing issue sounds super frustrating — glad you got it sorted! Honestly, tech like this can be picky depending on firmware versions and how the pairing is done. I had a similar problem with a different headset, and a full re-pair fixed it too. Also totally unrelated, but if you’re ever into exploring creative platforms, check out online communities — some really unique stuff there
