I can get as far as it saying "passcode is 0000" and then connection failed. I've tried the multipoint pairing and it's still not working.

Ok- feel like an idiot but I got this one all set. I turned OFF my android phone, went into the Nuvi and went through the pairing. Piece of cake......big DUH to me for not turning my phone off first. For some reason having the phone paired first freaked out the pairing of the GPS and the Sena.

I'm creating this howto for a couple of reasons.

    1. As a personal reference log
    2. As a howto for you other frugal people out there like me that ether can not afford or don't want to pay crazy price for a motorcycle specific GPS and still be able have full featured bluetooth enabled GPS with with bluetooth turn by turn directions, route planning, live traffic updates, POI's just to name a few, and the ability to have bluetooth hands free phone.

Unpair and remove any and all bluetooth connections you may have related to or from your Garmin nuvi 765T, your Android phone and your Sena SMH10

    1. Factory default reset your SMH10, this is done to insure there is nothing left from previous pairing of devices that could cause conflicts for our new new connections.

    • To restore the SMH10 to factory default settings, press and hold
the Phone Button for 12 seconds until the LED shows solid red
and you hear double beeps. You will hear a voice prompt saying
      “Factory reset”.
    • Within 5 seconds, press the Jog Dial to confirm reset. The headset
will be restored to factory setting and switched off automatically.
You will hear a voice prompt saying “Headset reset, good-bye”.

    2. Now lets setup an a2dp Media selective pairing from our Garmin nuvi 765T to our Sena SMH10

    • Turn on the headset and press the Phone Button for 5 seconds
until the LED flashes red and blue alternately and you hear multiple
      beeps.
    • Within 2 seconds, tap the Jog Dial again, then the LED turns to
red flashing and the beeps turn to double mid-tone beeps. You
will hear a voice prompt saying “Media selective pairing”.
    • Search for Bluetooth "Audio" NOT PHONE on your Garmin nuvi 765T. Select the
Sena SMH10 in the list of devices detected.

After a few seconds you should hear it say media connected.

Congratulations you have successfully connected your Garmin nuvi 765T
and should now have full bluetooth turn by turn GPS, traffic updates, and media to play music/audiobooks, ect.

    3. Now lets set up our Android phone so we can have hands free calling.
Were going to pair our phone to the Sena SMH10 and not to the Garmin nuvi 765T and I'll tell you why.

    First
If you connect directly to the Garmin nuvi 765T you will not have full hands free calling threw your Sena SMH10 head set.
you have to do everything threw the nuvi 765T and not threw your SMH10 awkward to be pushing buttons on a tuck screen while dragging foot pegs in twisties.
    Second
The Garmin nuvi 765T will output the phone audio to the built in speakers and not to your Sena SMH10 head set.
Trust me I found this out the hard way people could hear me but I couldn't hear them.

Now what we are going to do is pair our phone to the Sena SMH10 via HFP for Phone Call Only connection.

    • Turn on the headset and press the Phone Button for 5 seconds
until the LED flashes red and blue alternately and you hear
      multiple beeps.
    • Within 2 seconds, tap the Phone Button again, then the LED turns
to blue flashing and the beeps turn to multiple mid-tone beeps.
You will hear a voice prompt saying “Phone selective pairing”.
    • Search for Bluetooth devices on your smartphone. Select the
Sena SMH10 in the list of devices detected on your phone.
Enter 0000 for the PIN. Some smart phones may not ask for PIN.

Congratulations you have successfully connected your phone.
And should now have full hands free calling threw your Sena SMH10 as it designed for.

If all has gone well you should have your Garmin nuvi 765T and your phone independently connected to your Sena SMH10 and you should hear turn by turn GPS, traffic updates, media from your Garmin nuvi 765T to your Sena SMH10 head set via bluetooth and able to send and receive calls hands free threw your Sena SMH10 to your phone all at the same time as Sena designed it to do.

    **Important connection sequence**
Once everything has been paired successfully you shouldn't have to do that again, all you have to do is turn on your Sena SMH10 and then your devices and they should automatically connect however with this setup you need to do this in a specific order or the Garmin nuvi 765T will not connect right, I'm not sure if its a bug with the Garmin nuvi 765T or the Sena SMH10 but in any case follow this sequence and they will connect correctly every time.

    1. On your phone toggle bluetooth off
    2. Turn on your Sena SMH10
    3. Turn on your Garmin nuvi 765T after a few seconds you should hear your SMH10 head set say "Media connected"

OK, this procedure works well if you want to play music from your 765T, but I only want turn-by-turn from the GPS with music and full phone capabilities from my Iphone.  Is there no way to connect that way without purchasing a SM10?

I'm having the same problem that the first poster Kathy described but the Sena 20s.  The instructions provided by Willy (I assume would be the same for the 20s) appear to be for playing music and I only want to be able to hear the turn by turn directions from the Garmin Nuvi 765.

For the 20s, is it as simple as Kathy describes or  turning off the phone when you pair the GPS using the GPS Pairing instructions provided in the manual for the 20s.

I tried every approach and I cannot get blue tooth to pair between 765t and the 20s for directions.  I was able to pair for audio as Willie described and I could hear music from the 765 to the 20s but no turn by turn direction.

I have a 785T and have had NO luck getting just GPS direction usage paired to the SMH10, via multi point pairing, which is what the Help Desk has recommended. I have no phone and wonder if that is the main stumbling block to getting this GPS to pair with the Sena?  Come on Sena, what is the fix here?? This appears to have been a complaint for over two years at least!  I just want to hear my GPS instructions and have intercom, in that priority.

Here's what I can gather from the nuvi 7x5 series is that they only support A2DP to a Bluetooth headset. This means you will not be able to use mutipoint pairing. You need to use the media selective pairing as described in the previous post above. A2DP is a Bluetooth profile used mostly for music. It is up to the GPS manufacturer if they want to send the turn by turn direction audio to the A2DP channel.

Now, if you have a GPS that supports HPF to a Bluetooth headset, like the zumo, then you can use multipoint pairing.

If you follow the above directions I posted back in 2013 to the letter, everything WILL work as it should.
I still use this same setup to this day and has never failed once.
That being said if you are using any other hardware than is described above your on your own.

    Hi Willie,.

Yes, I am able to pair the 785T with the "audio" box on the GPS, but my problem is that I also want intercom and the GPS does not have priority over the intercom, so in order to hear the GPS lady, I must first shut off the intercom between me and the missus.

As Dean stated above, the 7 series only supports A2DP, which is mainly for music and the music channel priority (from the owner's manual) falls BELOW the intercom channel, thus no override. The intercom will not give priority to what it perceives as a music channel. At least that seems to be my experience, after several attempts to get any GPS priority over the intercom with the 785.

In such cases, you can try unpairing and removing the bluetooth connections (if any) from Your Garmin Nuvi device. Also, you can try restoring the Sena SMH10 with the help of power button and then try again. For more details, you can contact Garmin Experts for instant resolution.

The updated post from Hideaki Nishino clarified some of the messaging from Wednesday's livestream. He wrote on the blog, "We’re expecting backward compatible titles will run at a boosted frequency on PS5 so that they can benefit from higher or more stable frame rates and potentially higher resolutions. We’re currently evaluating games on a title-by-title basis to spot any issues that need adjustment from the original software developers." ps5 backwards compatibility ps3
