@James: When the SMH10 is paired using the Phone Pairing method it will tell the device to use both of the Bluetooth profiles for "Phone Audio" and "Media Audio" at the same time as shown on the image you have provided. When using the Phone Pairing method, the SMH10 will give only give the voice prompt "Phone Connected" when it connects to the paired device. The voice prompt "Media connected" will only be heard if you use the Media Selective Pairing method which then you would only see the "Media Audio" box checked off on the phone.

I am having the exact same issue with my HTC Incredible 4G being paired to my SMH10R.  It works absolutely flawlessly with phone call but I get no media.  My phone obviously recognizes the device because it shows both phone and media being paired and checked.  My phone even fails to play music through the phone speaker because it's trying to play through the Sena.  Would turning of the EDR possibly help the issue?  I didn't want to turn it off through the software because it says to call support before turning it off.

@RiskFactor: We are slightly confused by your post because you say "It works absolutely flawlessly with phone call but I get no media." and "fails to play music through the phone speaker because it's trying to play through the Sena." This sounds like it is working normally because the phone shows that Media audio is checked and you are hearing music through speakers of the SMH10R and not the phone.

Sena, Risk Factor never said he was hearing music through the SMH10R speakers. That's the problem.

I'm having it too. The phone works fine, but music plays through the phone's speakers NOT the SMH10R's speakers. The bluetooth connection shows that the media profile is on, but the SMH10R doesn't play music

I can verify that this is not a misunderstanding or a misconfiguration, it is a real issue. The phone is asking the Sena for both the phone and audio profiles (in other words, both are checked) but the media never connects. I am disappointed that there appears to be no fix for this as it will make the product unusable for what I want it for.

To expand just a little, if I disable the phone profile the Sena just goes into a loop trying and failing to connect to the media profile. I've never seen this behavior with any other Bluetooth device. The media continues uninterrupted playing on the phone's speaker, the headset never grabs the audio.

    Michael,

Return it. I had to return four of them before I got one that worked, and in fact I never got my SMH10R to work. I gave up on the SMH10R and spent the extra money for a 20S, which works fine. I would have given up on the Sena altogether, but they are the only intercom company making these products worth having.

They need to shitcan the 10 series and make the 20S a little cheaper. I use one but I DO NOT recommend it because of all the asspain I had getting one that worked.

Having the same issue - This worked fine on my phone but I had to format it for another problem and when re-pairing, I only see the option for "phone".  No other check boxes are there for media or anything else.  This is a Samsung s7, both are on the latest software version

Had same issue...only phone button visible. turned phone off and on and media button appeared but would not connect. After much cursing i un paired and factory reset sena. Opened bluetooth setting on phone, opened settings for sena on phone, then set sena to pair. In pairing time i then pressed media button on phone and media paired also....seems like you have to pair media and phone seperatly sometimes... galaxy s5 neo...android 6.1 marshmellow. hope that helps someone...

Fixed mine.  If you advance past the phone pairing to media selected pairing all works as advertised.  Music plays and it switches to phone audio when you make or receive a call.  Never had to do this before and not if sure if the Media selected pairing was available previously.  I updated firmware to v5.1.2 while trying to fix it.  May be an added option with the new firmware.  After almost a year of happing riding listening to Sirius XM through my phone app I was sad to be nearly to the point of returning the product.  No music is a no go, use my 90% for music, 8% intercom riding with buddies and 2% phone calls.

Exactly as Robert Harris has suggested. My SMH10R started switching off on Sunday (after many years of reliable use) so did a factory reset this morning, upgraded new firmware and then couldn't get music through my headset!!

So, thankfully, the timing with finding the solution was perfect, Thank you Robert Harris.... mine now works fine, Zumo navigation, Iphone5s, all flowing nicely. Only time will tell if I get the shutdown issue again?

Well, I'm pissed at sena at this point. I have been talking with they help department for about a week and their solution is that I'm SOL for the warranty is expired. My trouble with it is that I can't hear media on my headset, everything else works fine. I went thru several factory resets, pairing with other phones and best I can get is though luck, our product does not work anymore.

I guess I will have to buy a new communicator, I doubt it will be sena for this is ridiculous!

    thanks sena.

Same problem. I have both "Calls" and "Audio" (no "phone" or "media") on my Android Galaxy S8. I haven't tried calls yet -- I bought it for music. Can't hear anything. I don't even hear any prompts.
