how do you attach the mike to the helmet on the smh 10 duel pack?

The boom mike that came in the box is not attached to the main unit (as in the diagrams on the instruction book) Is there a trick to attaching permanently?

The wired boom microphone on a SMH10 headset attaches to the main unit using the connector. To attach the wired boom microphone inside of a helmet, you can place it in between the cheek pad and the inner shell of the helmet just like its shown on this picture http://www.sena.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/SMH10-HJC%C2%AE-Rpha-6.jpg.
