SMH5-FM dual microphone doesnt work

A brand new set of SMH5-FM, 1 unit work just perfect, but the mircrophone from the other unit doesnt work, it is connected correctly (matching the arrow) and tried to put on to the other base/mount which works but still doesnt work. Tried restore back to firmware 1.3 and still doesn't work.  Is manufacturing defect  possible? tAny help would be appreciated.

  My microphone on my smh10-r doesnt work at all after less than a month
