Why is my Sena picking up nearby motorist's bluetooth conversations?
I was out on a ride with another motorcyclist today. We have our SMH5's paired (firmware updated to 2.1) and were talking over the intercom, and all the sudden our intercom dropped off and I was now listening in on the bluetooth conversation of the car behind us. I could hear just one side of this conversation.
A short while later, we were on intercom and I held the jog dial to initiate music sharing (my unit is paired with my iPhone 6)... usually music sharing works okay, but this time our intercom dropped off and we both connected with a bluetooth conversation of the car in front of us. We could both just hear one side of the car's conversation. I could clearly hear the car's conversation, the other motorcyclist could hear talking but couldn't make out what was being said.
Later in the day, we were back on our bikes... again we were on intercom and when I went to hold the jog dial to initiate music sharing, but instead our intercom disconnected and this time I picked up the bluetooth conversation of a motorcycle behind us.
Not sure if any of the nearby motorists that we were picking up on our Sena could hear us. I didn't try to initiate conversation with them. I listened in for a few seconds but then tapped the jog dial to disconnect with them, and reconnected with the other motorcylist I was riding with.
We had not paired to any of these other units, so it was interesting that our Sena headsets would eavesdrop on nearby motorist's bluetooth conversations. Makes me wonder if nearby motorists are picking up our conversations too? Seems to be a software glitch with the universal intercom feature?
