I just got the Prism today and I have the same exact problem with my SMH10.

Discovered that if my Galaxy S4, which is synced to the SMH10, is on, it seems to override some of the Prism connectivity.  With the S4 off I can use the jog wheel to start/stop videos and change between modes so that has somewhat resolved the issue but I thought it was possible to have multiple devices paired.  And yes, I did the multiple device pairing procedure.  Took some videos this weekend on an overnight ride and they turned out nicely but found I had run the battery flat several times because when I though I had turned off the Prism it was still in sleep mode and apparently not off.

The Sena headset needs to be put into Intercom Pairing mode after selecting the Headset Pairing option on the Prism. This will allow full control of the Prism through the Sena headset.

Sena would be correct. It was not working for me because I was doing it wrong. If all else fails, read the manual!
