Ok I figured it out.  Seem my anti virus software was blocking the accessing of the device.

Gotta figure out how to include it as an exception.  Never had this trouble on my computer before.

And press the camera button for a few seconds... forgot about that.  I didn't see any of that in the instructions.

    Yes I have.

The device needs to be on, and then after connecting it to the USB, turn the camera on.  Also, and exception has to be manually inputed for my anti-virus software to allow it to detect the device.

I didn't see that anywhere in the instructions.  Normally stuff is plug and play for these devices.  I have no idea how to put down the answered checkmark.

I'm so happy I checked the forums. I've never been stumped on such a simple task before. I seriously felt stupid and almost returned this thing.

I consider myself computer savvy and I was banging my head against the keyboard.

Oh well, least I got to help one person.

FYI for cameras you just plug into the USB and it automatically detects... This is similar but requires the extra step of turning the camera on.

    It's all good.

Thank you or this post. I couldn't find out how to do this. I was in chat with a tech for almost an hour as they told my how to use the hdmi cable to dispay on TV and then they said OH for the computer just use the USB cable. Finally they told me to press the camera button. It doesn't say that anywhere else and I would think that is pretty important. Thanks again.
