Would love to see a Goldwing factory audio/CB interface!

How much different would the interface be for a Honda Valkyrie Interstate? I have been told the GL1500 interface will not work with the Honda Valkyrie Interstate. I have been digging for days and keep coming back here hoping to read a solution. I am getting closer to cobbling my own device together too. But I hate to reinvent the wheel again..

When will the smart helmet be available? Also, will it be compatible with a 2008 goldwing? Would you need any accessories to make it work?

As someone deeply familiar with Bluetooth integration for touring motorcycles, especially Honda Goldwing systems, I’d like to offer a consolidated view and solution based on this discussion.
The core issue here is full-duplex CB communication via Bluetooth, which isn’t natively supported due to limitations in Bluetooth profiles (A2DP for stereo audio, HFP for two-way comms). While SM10 provides stereo audio via A2DP, it lacks CB transmission support. On the other hand, SR10, when paired correctly and used with the DIY open-end cable, can transmit voice over CB but only in mono and lacks factory plug support.
Recommended Hybrid Setup (Real-World Working Solution):
-
SM10 → For stereo audio (music, GPS, CB receive) to both rider and passenger.
-
SR10 + properly made custom Goldwing 5-pin DIN to SR10 cable → For CB transmit using HFP profile.
-
Use multipoint pairing (as supported in newer SMH10 firmware) to connect both devices to a single headset.
-
Assign media profile to SM10 and phone profile to SR10 to maintain functionality.
This allows seamless toggling between listening in stereo and transmitting on CB, though you may still need manual input (jog dial or PTT button). For future-ready setups, Sena could massively benefit from developing a combined SM10+SR10 unit with factory-ready plug-and-play Goldwing interface — a single box that manages both audio streams and CB mic routing natively.
This would not only solve the long-standing Goldwing/Harley rider issue but also dominate a niche market that's still underserved.
Looking forward to further developments — happy to beta test if needed.
