I had a Cardo Scala Rider pair and hated them, dropped connection constantly. I just used my Sena pair on a (cold) ride around Lake Michigan and they worked fabulously, but it was only 2 of us.  One thing Scala does is allow multiple riders on the same channel.  This is an excellent feature and would allow you to compete better against what is otherwise an inferior product.
