thoughts about the new 10U
I'm interested in the upcoming 10U but have the feeling it will lack some of the most important 20S features. The major ones would be:
-
@Martin: Thank you for your thoughts on the 10U. The main feature of the 10U is that it is a headset that will be completely inside of the helmet with nothing showing on the outside. There are controls for the headset on the microphone but the handlebar remote is provided as an alternate way to operate the headset. As with all of our headsets, the design of the handlebar is simple as it only has 3 buttons, the front button, the rear button and the analog stick which also acts as a button.

I am also waiting to get the 10U when it comes out, I will be installing it on a C3 Pro, and I look forward to moving the controls from the side of my helmet to the handle bars. My wife has the 20S and she also wants to get the remote for that. Exactly when will the 10U be available for purchase?

Please add an earbug jack for the 10U. Also, the 10U should be able to be used without the included speakers.

I have the 10u in a Schubert C3 Pro and have really got the hang of it. I would suggest a few changes for the next upgrade:
The front and rear buttons need to be slightly more prominent to make them easy to feel with winter gloves on.
Though the battery life is very long I find I leave my handlebar remote permanently switched on. Can you get it to switch off when the helmet is switched off and/or if out of contact with the helmet set for say 5 minutes. Could this even be a firmware upgrade?
Though the handlebar remote makes access to the horn and indictors a little more awkward on my Pan-European I have got used to it. I agree that the BMW Rotary audio dial was so much worse as you had to reach so far that you ended up loosing grip on the bars. Maybe some bikes are worse than others for this.

@Scott Elam and @r.begley
Thank you for these feature requests. We will consider the possibility of adding those features into the 10U in the future.

I have the 10U in a Shoei, and I can only get 6 hrs of battery life, this unit is paired to an SMH10 and nothing else. Now I have only used it twice and I'm wondering if this is normal as my old SMH10 could get 10 hrs?

I get way longer then that on my 10U, I usually charge it once every 2 weeks and I ride about an hour a day, Minimum. I only charge the remote when it keeps disconnecting.
So no that would not be a normal condition in my opinion, if you just purchased it return it for a new one.
