Universal wireless interface to onboard comms
Although I left a comment with similar content at http://support.sena.com/entries/20845262-Would-love-to-see-a-Goldwing-factory-audio-CB-interface-, only upon submitting I realized that request has status "Done".
So I'd thought I'd better enter a new request for a *universal* device that also others (BMW, H-D, ...) could benefit from...
How about if Sena created a universal wireless kit (unit hardwired on the bike, two -or even more, sidecars!- headsets) that would allow streaming stereo to the helmets and at the same time the microphone signal back to unit on the bike? Additionally either the main unit or (most likely) the individual helmets would be able to pair to mobile phones.
Such a setup would keep all controls to what is already available onboard, no hassle with circuitry for PTT or whatever else. It just cuts the wires to the helmets and adds mobile phone operation.
I had understood that based on the official Bluetooth profiles this could not be supported, but having read the datasheet of the BlueAudio KC-6112 Bluetooth module (KCSI profile), I would say this should not be impossible anymore!
(No, I have no commercial connection to the manufacturer or marketer - and unfortunately insufficient electronics skills...)
