Adjustable VOX sensitivity for U10
-
I have the 10U for Schuberth C3 and I have an issue which is the exact opposite. Need to shout loud to get the intercom reacting and connection gets closed while we talk (because it does not recognize our voice).

We will provide your feature request to our developers so that you will be able to adjust the sensitivity of the microphone on the 10U through a possible firmware update in the future.

Maybe some useful observation I made today:
On the Schuberth C3 the microphone is on the side. If I blow sidewards into the microphone then I can activate VOX (was riding alone, so I heard the beeps that tell me that no one is available at the moment). Same if I speak loud "sidewards".
I assume that all devices (for the different helmets) use the same gain and sensitivity. From the pictures I can see that the U10 for the Shoei Neotec has the microphone more placed in front of the mouth. So maybe that's the reason why it works for Harwil and it doesn't work for me. Schuberth version either needs a longer microphone or more gain respective higher sensitivity.

So any future firmware updates in the pipeline to add vox sensitivity adjustment to the 10u?

So, Sena, when is it going to happen. I have the same problem as in the original post.

Hi Sena, I'm with Harwil, Stuart and Austin, this issue needs to be resolved. Having the microphone continually activated due to ambient motorcycle/wind noise is extremely annoying and greatly detracts from an otherwise great product. It's been the better part of two years since this issue was raised. Can you let us know when it will be fixed for the 10U Neotec (and I presume other versions of the 10U)?

I raised a support issue about this the other week it took two goes but their response eventually was "For now, there is no update for the vox sensitivity yet." Sena's proposed solution was a to buy a third party shield such as the items marketed by these guys in the USA: http://www.windsockwinddeflector.com although I prefer this as a home made solution https://www.webbikeworld.com/intercom-microphone-cover-prevents-wind-noise/
I have tried doubling up the foam windsock - which added about 10mph before I got interference and also the put the chin curtain back into my Neotec which adds about 5mph, meaning now I don't get interference until about 65mph, although cross winds and large vehicles still trigger the mic.
Whatever it seems we aren't going to get a software based solution anytime soon.

Thanks for the windsock idea Austin, I’ll try to make two of those myself ;) . Strange that the software in other Sena products is able to do it, but they will not update the U10 with it.
Altough it fits perfectly for the helmets, my next intercomsystem will for sure not be a Sena.0 -
I think the problem with the 10U is, because it has been designed to integrate with the helmet, to do so Sena have compromised on the features that say the 20S has ie, VOX sensitivity adjustment and Audio Multitasking.
Unfortunately in my opinion they are 2 very useful features and considering the cost of the 10U, I think they should at least be added to future versions of the 10U. I would certainly consider an upgrade if became available!
We have used Cardo coms systems for years, the thing that attracted me to change to the Sena coms was the intergration with the helmet. Whilst the sound through the Sena is MUCH clearer than the Cardo, the Cardo at least had the 2 features mentioned above which we really miss!
