    I discoverd the same problem.

It would very helpfull when the engineers from Sena come up with a better solution for the flip-up helmets.

In the past Baehr (Germany) uses therefore a spiral cable in the moving chin part of the helmet and fitted it with a connector onto the mic cable.

+1I discovered the same problem with my BMW 6 system helmet.

In my former helmet I had a Baehr rider to rider communication system and they used for the microphon connection a spiral cable between the chin part and the head scale.

This spiral cable was fixed on both sides to avoid losening by opening the chin part, from there was it connected to the microphon.

My Shoei Neotec Flip works great.  I mounted the boom velcro mount between the cheek pads and helmet so it's completely inside the helmet.   Don't know how you mounted yours but it works for me quite well

Thats how I have it now but the problems come up when I close the chin part then the microphon is sitting between them.

Maybe suitable for your helmet but not for mine.

It works OK in my Schuberth C3.  Not perfect, I  have to pay special attention to getting it inside the helmet.  But I choose the C3 flip front helmet and have studied how the mic could be improved.  It can't (in my view).

A friend has a full face Arai helmet.  He uses the wired microphone.  It must be a half inch to an inch from  his mouth.  His audio volume level is down from the rest of ours with the wind sock touching lips.  He gets more wind noise, too.  The fixed wired mic needs a better wind sock and varied-thickness mounting velcro pads.

I have a Shoei Neotec flip as well.  There's not enough room between the chin guard and my mouth for a microphone and the windsock.  When you open and close the lid, the microphone gets caught on the chin curtain.  How do you get around that?

I have the Neotec flip up and my mic never gets caught on the chin curtain. I have used both the 20S and currently using a Cardo G9x (may not switch back when the 20S comes back from its being replaced)

I hope Sena is paying attention. We payed a lot of $$ for these S20's and the pigtail for the in helmet velcro mic is not long enough to work with a (for example) Shoei Multitech flip up........boom mic works but gets caught  and boom eventually chafes through from the face shield joint. I used the velcro mic with my SMH 10's just fine.....sound quality was superb and I didn't have a foam sock in my mouth! Longer  mic cable please Sena!!
