Music Sharing range?
Anyone else having issues with music sharing range?
I had SMH10's that I was extremely happy with that had a very decent range. I could easily share my music at 500+ yards when there is a line of sight. Since I was so happy with them I thought why not pay more to get the same xeact product but an even better range. What a bad idea. They have honestly tainted a few bike rides already and hours of frustration.
I contacted Sena and I did all the firmware updates, all the resets, the antenna is up and I played with turning on and off many of the options. I just tried again today by setting one down playing and walking away (all with clear line of sight). At 15 yards the music starts to have stutter occasionally (if you just stand there). Then between 15 and 100 yards the music goes from massive stuttering to completely disconnecting. Not consistent with exactly when it disconnects, but by 100 yards, the song is barely discernible from all the stuttering.
I'm getting ready to get an RMA and then send it in for a replacement, but I wanted to hear other peoples experiences. I didn't actually test the range of just the intercom (which works fairly well), but its the music sharing that has absolutely no range. I don't want to waste time sending it in and getting it replaced if everyones 20s' don't have a good range on music sharing. Thats just gonna lead to wasting so much more time and so much more frustration.
I can't imagine that this is a problem when their cheaper models don't have this issue, but the reason I'm asking is that I see alot of old threads complaining about range with the 20s and none of them ever seem to come back with a happy resolution.
Let me know your experiences!

I've got the EXPAND model two of them. I did the firmware upgrades and still can't get the passenger side EXPAND to connect to the music. Driver side I've got music phone gps and intercom! The passenger side has only intercom. For the life of me I can not get the media to come over the intercom for the passenger side EXPAND headset! I've called the tech line and have been disconnected twice, emailed and no response 0 -
I don't have an EXPAND model, but looking at the manual for that model, I'm assuming you 1. Have enabled the "EDR" setting in the Sena Device Manager. 2. Are running firmware version 2.1.1 on both headsets, 3. Starting/listening to the music on the driver side 4. Entering into an intercom call with the passenger side and lastly 5. Holding in the center button for 1 second (while still in the intercom conversation) until you hear a double beep? If you've done all of that (in that order), then there's obviously a problem with one or both units.
I've had pretty good luck contacting the Sena support folks via both the help desk and on the phone.
