SRL 3 voice commands not working

having the same issues as the above the SRL3 worked fine for the first week then the HEY SIRI and the hey sena function dropped out and have gone through the many back and forth of resetting the system and even resetting my phone although the siri function worked perfectly fine on the phone. If this is a common fault, why are they still selling this item without a competent firmware fix? Sena really needs to step and and be upfront about the issues or refund the monies spent on their items.

And the question is, what SHOEI does for that. They just enjoy our money.

So here my take on Sena as a company. The leadership has no plans to fix the voice command software/hardware not working for its intended purpose. They use there customer service agents which are not the bad guys too convince the customer that the units works for them when testing them at their testing facility. The problem is that they will never work in real world environment. My suggestion is take your money elsewhere next time you upgrade your communication system. That’s what I plan on doing. “Fool me once, shame on you. There will be no fool me twice.

Maybe I have a solution.
Since the last weeks I struggled also with this problem. My smpartphone: Samsung S23 Ultra, firmware of slr3: 1.4.1
Until today i was not able to use the command "Hey Google" and of course it was not a mistake by sena. It depends on my smartphone and settings!!I solved it with two easy steps:
At the start: 1) Start the slr3 and wait until slr3 is connected to the smartphone. 2) Afterwards connect with the sena app.-
Configure Google:
Activate "Hey Google" via smartphone, not via slr3, with following command: "Hey Google open the assistant settings"
Scroll down to the section "My Apps": search for "Sena Motorcycles" and activate all necessary settings. -
Activate "Hey Google" for slr3:
Stay connected with the slr3!
Unlock the smartphone!
Push the button between +/- on slr3 for ~3 sec.
A popup will appear on your smartphone with the question "How this should be opened"
Select with Google and "every time".
I think the second point is the primary step. It sounds simple and stupid but it helps in my case. With this setting Google knows that this command regardless wheter you push the button ~3 sec or you say "Hey Google" is executed by Google.

Hey Marco, how is “hey Sena” working. Most of can get hey google and hey Siri to work when stationary on the bike. But hey Sena doesn’t respond. Which make it impossible to control Sena hardware commands.

Hi guys,
I am using Sena SRL3 in a Neotec3. It startet to work with "Hey Google" since last firmware version 1.4.1.
The problem is "Hey Sena". There is no way to get it working. Nothing happens when I try voice commands like "Hey Sena, check battery". I have configured the voice assistant in spanish, I try with voice commands in spanish but still nothing happens.
Is there any "real" solution for this?

I’ve just bought my first Sena intercom - a SRL Mesh. The system is updated and is able to handle phone calls, receive FM radio and Spotify. So far so good.
The Sena Voice Commands is however coursing some headaches. I can get the system to respond on the command “Hey Sena - Check battery” but that’s the only Sena command I can get to work.
I’ve been in contact with the online support but it’s completely useless - one of the answers back was “please do basic troubleshooting” 🤔
I think Sena has an issue with the Sena Voice Commands they don’t know how to solve.0 -
I bought the SLR3 a couple of days ago and installed the app on my phone (android).
Voice commands works poorly ("answer" - "ignore") or doesn't work at all ("Hey Sena, Play Music" - "Hey Sena, FM Radio On").
The connection with PC fails every time (either with "Updater Software for Windows PC" or "Sena Device Manager for Windows").
I had a Cardo in my previous Shoei Neotec helmet and it worked properly from day one until today (5 plus years since).
Is this a scam??!!

After hours of nothing Ive just got this working by doing the hard reset. Press the middle button for 10secs until you hear "configuration menu" then minus (right) button twice until you hear "reset" or similar then press middle button. Device will turn off and then manually turn back on and bluetooth back to device. Easiest check i did was "hey sena check battery". Its almost as if it needs to reinstall over itself again after a firmware update.

For all that are frustrated with Sena’s voice command. Please know there are no fixes comming. There issue are hardware related and can’t t be fixed with a software update. But all is not lost. Hey Siri for the iPhone works perfectly as well as Google for the android phones. The downside to this is that you can’t command Sena hardware functions. But you can use
Siri and Google to control your phones music apps as well as use Siri or Google for voice texting, phone calls. As for as communicating between riders you will need to use the onboard helmet control buttons.0 -

Also quite frustrating that they get away with selling a product that doesn’t live up to the promised functions.1 -

Just bought the sena srl3 and this hey sena command is not working. In my country and at all european union, thats is fake advertising and i will go directly to the authorities to sue sena for not supporting, solving or returning the funds for this inconvenience. Also, choosing neotec3 was in part because the sena. so shoei is gonna lose the helmet earning too. If this is for all buyers, we should join for really claim an official answer from them.

Well i sold this SRL 3 and bought the Cardo Pro, much better sound and the voice commands all just work.
Its not so neatly integrated as the Sena kit, but with the gen 3 adapter it al fits nicely.
Never going back to sena again.0 -
Support response is "do a video, to show how you do the commands to the mic". That is totally proof about their systems is a shit if you are not capable to do a "hey sena, play music" without learn how to do pauses on your own.... Instead recognize their method, system and software is pure s h i t , they still thinking all the useres are r*tards and must learn. When you come frmo srl1 and 2 this is a joke because you know that worked fine previously.
I can say Sena is scaming their customers with a 300 euros intercom. with that price you have a high level intercom with more functionalities. If thoey would not have this shoei joint venture with the helmet, thou would not sell a single one of this crap.

I think Calling the owner a crook is a little strong. But he is a A-hole for claiming voice recognition for Hey Sena Work and not fixing it in updates. If that wasn’t enough. Then He claims his Mesh hardware works too, it doesn’t!!!
